Elimination RP Idea
I know we have a few strong RPs going out there but I think this can be a good idea, and it wont go forever.
This is a limited RP, which anyone can join and create a character.
It works just like a normal RP, we can have people working together, or against, but people have to post to the highest quality they can.
Because, at the end of every week, there will be a poll to vote out one RPer. We can have it like Survivor where the RPers vote, or like Big Brother where the readers vote. Or both. But you can only vote once. Vote for the person you don't want to be in the RP any more and the person with the most votes will get killed off.
It doesnt have to be exactly a week, but once you're voted off you can post one more time to describe your death/disappearance/retirement, after discussion.
And then the numbers get smaller and smaller and eventually there is one RPer left, who is victorious in the story and is crowned the Champion RPer. Or something.
I think it'll work, but it'll take organization.
It doesn't need to be done now because the Glade is pretty busy right now but I just wanted to see what you guys think.

i think it would be a great RP which may bring in some new RPers.
anyway, this is the ideas thread and i have 2 story lines. one idea is that all the participants wake up in this large room and then they venture forth, killing mosnters and avoiding traps (well most of them at least ). and when there are 2 guys left then they find the guy who put everyone into that place at the start. big battle then the winner of the whole thread kills the bad guy, after the runner up is killed by the bad guy.
OR
everyone starts off in a cage (or something) seperated from everyone else, they then break free and explore this mansion (or other setting). this then means each RPer must make unique traps and obstacles. in the end the two surviving RPers meet the bad guy again and same thing happens
just my thoughs

We might need a storyline though
Hmmm
We could have it a medieval gauntlet/competition thing
Where its kind of a scavenger hunt except with quests, so there might be some dangerous things a group of contestants need to do or slay, and possibly bring back things to prove it
In essence a king like figure orders this competition and maybe they have to slay a dragon as the ultimate challenge as well as the other ones
then when two rpers survive and bring back the goods to win the prize, but boom boom the king says theres only one prize so they have to duel, the winner crowned champion, gets the girl and rides off into the sunset 
Something along those lines.

I don't mind either way, although I like the fantasy one more. As long as I get to ride off into the sunset with the 'guy' (in the rare event of winning ).

Here's an idea set in modern times. The bird flu mutates into a killer virus that goes on a rampage, killing 99.99 of all the people in the world. We: LPc, TA, KK*, and I are the only ones left in the city of______. Will we band together to survive or will it be survival of the fittest?
[edit] after getting a good nights sleep I now have about three screens worth of ideas, including the setup and my character. If you guys approve this all you have to do is wind me up and let me go. If not, that's totally fine too.

and i would go for T-As idea aswell, although it sounds a bit (perhaps more correctly, alot) like the things you must bring back at the start of M&M 7
and btw, i dont think i mentioned it but the mansion and everything in it would be fantasy

I mean it's a a good seed upon which to grow a great story. However I picked it because the word "mansion" suggests a modern or perhaps Victorian setting. It's looking now though like the fantasy RP'ers are in the majority so I'll concede on that regard.

I was thinking more on a larger scale, like the tooth of a dragon, or some sword or something. Not so much scavenger hunt, but like... when you take a dogtag from a soldier in war to prove you killed them.
My idea was pretty cheesy, but it's not the plot that's the attractive side of this idea IMO.
And Gunnar the bird flu things pretty scary for me living in Hong Kong
The mansion idea could work..
Dungeon type thing
sounds like BG2 haha. But..... i think that might be a bit confined. Maybe a forest or something?

BG2 LOL!!! seems like none of us can think of something original
what about its in the forest. when everyone wakes up they look around to find a few things. a weapon (that the Rper chooses, maybe a rule that you cant choose the same weapon as someone else?). there is also a horse next to a tree and a bag with some provisions and a note. the note outlines that you must make your way east where you will find a cottage/house/shack of some sort and you have x days to get there. (x is a number that stands for the number of RPers minus 1, so 1 RPer is killed off each day in the RP) the note also says that you must get these various things and so on

What about instead of them waking up theyre told to get to this location in x about of days, for a prize (like the scavenger thing). The contestants set off together and they read the mentioned note, except the note also says
DO NOT SHOW THIS NOTE TO THE OTHER CONTESTANTS
You are selected as the saboteur. You can only win the prize if you kill the other contestants.
if they all get this note it's like a sick twisted trick of the king or w/e who started the contest so that they all stab each other in the back (not just outright killing because they think that if they kill one and the party finds out then they'll get killed)
OR
only one person does get this note
he kills off some
the rest get killed along the way.
One person makes it to the location.

These are all really good ideas. I like Lord's idea about waking up - we can still kill each other if we find each other in the forest But I am happy with any storyline - I just think it sounds like fun.
Is anyone else interested - the more contestents, the less chance I have of being slaughtered in the first culling

This will need alot of organization and prior notice to the rest of the community to make it competitive.
But before that we need a story and no one seems to be decisive on that front.
We could do something like a fantasy version of the movie Saw where everyones been kidnapped and put in a house by a madman (the voters) and made to do sadistic challenges and all that.
