Bersek

Hello,

There is one thing that I wonder about bersek and I would be interested if someone knows the answer to this enigm ..

Jebus
2 players have castle.

In the final fight I cast bersek on the other's wiverns just after his angels moved and that he had used his spell for that turn already.

This, because I logically concluded that
1. the opponent could not remove the spell anymore
2. the angels were the closest troops, and the other troops were far, or shooters, so the wiverns could only hit the angels when it would be their turn to move.

The opponent at this time had haste on all troops.

Well ... against all expectations, all troops moved, the wiverns never did, and the next turn began by the opponent moving the angels again.

Is the bersek spell only on next turn when we don't have fire magic ?? Or something like that. Because I remember other fights where I put bersek and it made it in the same turn , usually.

Thanks

Are u sure the berzerk spell affected the wyverns at all?
If your opponent had the badge of courage, you can cast berzerk, but without any effect (u wonīt see that blue aura around the unit(s) when casting berzerk and u put the cursor over them). For the matter of fact itīs an "area" spell, u wonīt get the message "This spell wonīt effect anyone", but the spell for that turn is just lost then...

Berserk sometimes makes a troop freeze instead of attacking or moving. I still haven't figured out exactly when and why.

this is true. just place a 2 hex unit in the same line as the berserked unit.it doesn't matter if u place the blocker next to the berserked unit, or if u place it 10 hexes away. All you need is a 2 hex unit on the same row as the berserked one. This tactic was originally poste by xarfax in the library and Lkru has shown me a very nice way to take a dragon dwell witk Ivor 1/3/1/2 with 1 elf, one silver pegasi,an ammo cart, basic tactics, a spell book, and a berserk scroll
The interesting think is that, no matter the spell power of the attacker, the berserk never dissapears from the afected unit, even if it's atacked by shooters.

@ As a result of some tests i just do u should know this trick only works when attacking dragons

Yes, yes. I saw the red thing there turning on top of the unit, and after I looked in the squares where we can see all spells by which the unit is currently affected by right clicking on the unit.

In this case he had 35 wiverns at 2 squares of 5 angels.
Like both replies say there, it indeed looks like it is frozen, and in the next turn it attacked 3 elves after the angels had moved, as if it waited one turn to make the spell effective.

Or maybe when we don't have fire, there is a limit in damage, and it waits until there is a weaker unit with less points to hit it ....

Well, as Csarmi pointed out, I also saw this freezing action instead of attacking nearest creature when playing against AI in Armageddon Blade's Dragon Slayer Campaign (against Rust Dragons, not sure if other creatures as well). I was puzzeled, so would be glad to see how this enigma will be solved (if ever).

Where's Xarfax to give us some explanations?...

I think Tigris already told the complete story.

An old trick i used one these maps with garrisons to break thru early.

Oh one thing I made in last fight and that is really wonderful :-) mmmmmmh

The opponent puts bersek master on my wiverns, gorgons and basiliks.

The wiverns move first, but after, I had turn before the gorgons moved.

Hop, teleport gorgons to his behmots.
He he he he he, painful :-P

I continue to really prefer the fortress more and more .. :-)
And the strong defense also makes bersek much less damaging for the fortress than if it is put on stronhold troops, also ...

Nice trick and good humour you have, Nico! And a good point about Fortress, too. The only three things I can come up with against it is poor terrain movement if carrying some non-native creatures, having no decent shooter and being a bit slow on battlefield. With mass haste, however... Not to mention Teleport.
