King Gryphonheart of Deyja

I am working on a AB/SoD campaign named "The return of the dark father" and is about King Gryphonhearts return to Deyja (after the wars of amragedon). But I am unsure if he ever ruled Deyja, because in the storyline, they call him king, but he of some reason in the end only ruled over the stonecastle. Does someone know if he ever ruled Deyja?

Last I have another question: Did he free Sandro, or was it Archiblad who freed him?

And I know that the campaign idea is crazy, but nearly all of my campaigns has crazy stories!

Gryphonheart was King of Deyja.  As player, you take orders from him.  He has only a stone castle at the end because the rebellious necromancers and Catherine had taken back the rest of Deyja.  Sandro gets released by the player almost by accident.  His jail is just sitting there behind some guards.  I don't recall a story event to go with that.  Apparently, Gryphonheart didn't much care whether/when Sandro got out.  Archibald has nothing to do with it; he's stoned in Enroth at the time.

If your campaign deals with Deyja, you might find the Diaries of Archibald interesting.  That material is from the manual for Might & Magic 7.  That same site also has a Tavern for MM7 with useful information like this.  The necromancers have a habit of playing "musical chairs" with their throne.

If any holes in the story are giving you a hard time, you can also try adding your own storyline (if you haven't done so already. It's kind of like what we've been doing in the Pegasus thread. Some creativity might go a long way to making an interesting and enjoyable campaign. Nobody should really be bothered by the improv, except maybe those rare, purist Heroes historians.

Thanks for all replies here! They have been very helpful. I am making this campaign and this is how long I have commed:

Scenario 1: The dark wispher

Map Difficulty: Hard

Description: (NOTE: this is a compilation of the description and the intr event) Nimbus the necromancer (you know, he on my potrait ) is very tired of the tyranical rule of Archiblad "the intruder". He belives that even Finneas Willmar where a better king. But he can't do anything about it, because he just owns a small princedom near the Erathian borderline.
One night he gets a very mystical dream, he isn't even sure about if it realy is a dream, because it feals like in reality. He dreams that he is in the stonecastle, and stands in front of King Gryphonheart.
"King Gry..phonheart" he wispers afread. "Are you comming to take revange on me for betraying you?"
"No!" the dark voice of king Gryphonheart answers. "I am glaad that you delivered the betrayer to me, so I coud take revange on him! Lisen, I know that you hate Archiblads rule and that you wish to overthrow him. I can help you! My soul is imprisoned in an artifact known as the statue of legion. The owner knowns that I am there, but only you can free me! Use your alchemist skills to animate the statue I am imprisoned in to a golem! Then, we shall start the "liberation" of Deyja!"

Nimbus later finds that the owner on the Erathian side of the border, so he need to fight two Erathian outposts.

Carry over: Nimbus

Victory condition: Get the statue of legion frome the quest hut.

Lose condition: Lose Nimbus

Bonuses: 3 mummies, Scroll of Death ripple or Necromantic amfibier

Scenario 2: Traveling deeper

Map dificulty: Expert

Description: Whit King Gryphonheart freed, Nimbus and "Emperor" Gryphonheart is traveling deeper into Deyjas core provinces to asseble more supporters, but is suddently finding it selves surounded by Field Marshal Clavidius army. It will be a great task to defeat Clavidius army, but the price is even greater, because if Emperor Gryphonheart controls this region, the way is open to Deyjas capitol.

Carry over: Nimbus, Gryphonheart

Victory condition: Take over all enemy towns and defeat all enemy heroes.

Lose condition: Lose Gryphonheart

Bonuses: +2 Knowlege skill (for Nimbus), +2 Attack skill (for Gryphonheart) or 4500 gold

Scenario 3: Invasion! [Under construction]

Description: Our attack on those Erathian outposts didn't go unnoticed by King Kendal. We must defend ourselves!

Heroes:

Nimbus: Level 3 Human Necromancer

Biography: When Nimbus was a child he had a small dog that eventually died of old age. Nimbus discovered that by sacrificing a small bird or other creature, he could resurrect his pet, a feat which he repeated each time the dog died. Little did he realize that he was already exploring the beginnings of Necromancy

Speciality: Eagle eye

Starts whit: Expert Eagle eye, Basic Necromancy

Gryphonheart: Level 7 Golem Death knight

Biography: Animated as a golem by the Necromancer Nimbus, Nicolas Gryphonheart now seeks to retake the rule of Deyja from Archiblad.

Speciality: Necromancy

Starts whit: Expert Necromancy, Advanced Armourer, Advanced Offence

Other important things happening at this time: (who I am planning to do a campaign about)

The wars of the burning forests:

The newly founded elemental nation of Sollianderia is a threat to Erathias and Avlees trade embago. The conflict has gone so far that both Avlee, and Erathia has decided to invade Sollianderia. Can the newly founded elementalist republic defeat such a powerfull oponent, even whit help frome the Contested lands?

Alchemistic troubles: (This will be a "bonus campaign")

When the old master of the Alchemist order dies, an Alchemist named Zeth claims to replacce him because of his experience in alchemy. Many alchemists, however, dont want to see this happend. Even if the topps of the order agrees that he is the best chooise, they want to give him a chance to show his competence. They have given him the task to cleaning the borderlands of Bracada frome hostile barbarian clanes, before giving him his place as master of the alchemist order.
