Cutscenes!

Ubisoft has released a series of screenshots taken from cutscenes within Heroes of Might and Magic V, showing Academy, Dungeon, Haven, Inferno, and more!

The cutscenes use the engine of the game and were hopefully created with the editor, like in Warcraft 3...

Academy

Sylvan

Can't wait to see the movies created by fans! Lord of the Rings, anyone?

Other pics:

Dungeon & Inferno meet Sylvan (interesting, don't you think?)

Haven

P.S. The official links to the screens are a nightmare for 56k, but so is the entire Ubisoft site. *sigh*

Remember the Hydra in Half-Life 2? Anyone?
Renders are not cutscenes. Until proven otherwise, these things are renders.

Yup, exactly like the beginning of the Lord of the Rings, only knight is chick and Sauron is missing...

They are pretty good. The only thing that is annoying is that aside from hills the ground is perfectly flat

Perhaps it's just these screens, or it might have been done on purpose (in order to make the cutscenes  clearer).

If you take another look at previous pictures, it is obvious that there is an elevation tool of some sort... although most (if not all) of the battlefields have been flat so far, like a chess board. It's probably simpler and better that way.

I wonder if the mapmaker can rotate the camera freely and choose different angles. That would be fun.
