Wandering Creatures
An other idea.
what about those wandering creatures they always disapear after u attack them . What if u attack a wandering creature stack and they dont wanna fight, then u have 2 choose if u still wanna fight them or not . So this is my idea that if u choose no that they let your hero pas but they still stay on the map and dont disapear .
Example : if umh.. few black dragons is guarding a mine and u attack those dragons and they dont wanna fight with u and u choose no that they let u pass and take the mine but they still would stay and guarding the mine
What do u people think ??
Sorry people if this idea is already mentioned in a other thread .

What i want to know is what happens to all these creatures that flee before your mighty army. Would it not make sense that they might return to where they lived after a few turns?

Nice idea. If 3DO is improving wandering monsters by making them move around, they might as well do this. I'd sure like to see monsters just let you pass like the dwarves in "Carrotor Mines" in Roland's campaign in HOMM 2 after you do "Save the Dwarves".

Ummm...
I think that insted of going poof when the monster runs away you should see them run away! That would make more sense, but they could just let you pass too.

Isn't the point of these monsters that they are guarding these mines, resources or artifacts? If they just let you pass it's defeted the whole point.
Perhaps you could pay them to let you pass or something?

..and then what?
They just let any powerful unit pass? Why put them there at all? Just so you can recruit them if you have the skill? I find in H3 these units are there mostly so you can't get too much too early.

As I see it ..
If the creatures are weak and you're strong, and they try to flee then you kill them for the experience. This is especially true for Evil Heroes and most especially for necropolis Heroes. The creatures can be converted to more Skeletons than they may kill. Perhaps Good aligned heroes should be prevented to do fleeing enemies, but my guess is that right now you need every XP you can get so they would have to be compensated in other ways.
If the creatures want to be left alone then they'll have to pay for safe passage in one of two ways:
A) Some of them joins my army.
B) They pay in cash or goods.
Assuming they get away, they could appear (say with a 25% chance) somewhere close by 1 week later.

Djive, I like that idea of the monsters having to pay a price to be allowed to live!

So would you say that to flee and disappear from the map is a better way of guarding? That's also a way of letting you pass.
