ubi has their own "zone"-esque thing if im not mistaken
soo prolly there. but if the game gets really popular then doubtless you'll have at least one other option such as the zone or gamespy.
i must say im sorta concerned because in the interview with fabrice he said that most of the concentration/time spent on the first major patches will be on the "duel mode" which sounds like it won't be that fun no matter what you do to it.. but that is just me. i'd rather see them concentrate on improving other things.. map editor... balance testing... im prolly forgetting something else good but yeah

So is there only 1 map and town you can play in the demo? So far I like the graphics etc. But have to run it on the very low mode cause anything higher and I would be afraid it would bog my machine down. I have 3.06 Ghz processor and 1GIG mem which is way more then there minimum. Anyways.... So far the major complaint I have and its more of a frustration is the ability to move the camera angels and levels. When in battle and I zoom in closer it zooms to center of field. Instead of letting me zero in on like the corner then zoom in. Maybe its just limited in this fashion because of demo? And they made the creatures little on the field. Thats one thing I miss about Heroes 3 is the bigger creatures on battle field. Anyways just a few thoughts.
BTW Hi Camel...you gonna be around for H5?

As always the almighty Aranger is correct. I tried the Very High Graphics and it didnt affect the performance. The mouse just seems sluggish when moving it.

BTW Hi Camel...you gonna be around for H5?
of course i'll be around. starting my 2nd year of college so i doubt i can be super active but i will play (and of course make maps when the editor comes), i have high-speed now instead of 56k. liberation at last
you can play haven and inferno in the demo if you play the campaign maps as well, jinx. i think so far i like haven a little bit better than inferno. imps will quickly suck your haven hero's mana dry, but what does it matter when you have a lot of non-mana using abilities you can cast. and then you can hire lots of peasants and train them into archers, which gives you throngs and throngs of archers quickly, who can take down the enemy from range. succubi are very nice, but you can get so many more archers. the main weaknesses i see for haven is that priests/inquis seem weak, and the cavalier dwelling can be hard to get cuz of the cost. for the inferno, the cerberi seem really really strong so far. these messages of course brought to you by the all-time ultimate HOMM strategist :-P

Even teach is alive and kicking. Deeply addicted to wow, but there is still hope!
And to jinxer: What jb said, try the hardware version for the mouse (there's a box to check somewhere in Options)

Even some of us who totally boycotted H4 due to its poor quality are going to return, H5 is what I expected H4 to be as far as feel and gaming engine.

Ya maybe H5 will be what we hoped H4 woulda been... I mean H4 wasnt a terrible game, it just lacked a lot of the things that made H3 so addicting..

YES! The Hardware Mouse thing solved the problem! Works perfect now. Thanks!
Now does anyone know what the anti aliasing option does etc?

Hah, that hardware setting for mouse really helps.
And silly me though it is slow and sluggish because of whole game, movies and such.

Check out here or here.
For even more info and references, wikipedia is always a nice ally. In this case, you can look it up here.

Hope to see you all on the battlefield again.

Well the demo looks good and all, however, my two biggest concerns are:
1. when and if they will pull out a random map generator
2. game balance seems very problematic
