Poll Question:
The Way of the Druid
Vlaad was actually planning to do this, but I asked him if I could post this, and he said yes.

I think it's really clear and easy to pick. The first 3 druids just look awfull, the first one is an old grandma throwing yarn balls at people and the heroes 2 ones look like they are out of the shower in their bathing robes  .
So quite clear voted for the druid elder of heroes 5 just looks too cool for school in my opinion...

I agree this must have been the easiest choice so far!
I love everything about the new Druid Elder - the antlers, the staff, the cloak... His new stats and skills are rather interesting too, but let's not forget this is just a beauty pageant.

Oh for cryin out loud, a druid is supposed to be a mystical man of nature! How can you ever hope to achieve that kind of reputation with a dead animal on your head?!
HoMM2 druid all the way, of course!

I like the leaf designs on the HoMM 1 Druid. . . The HoMM 2 Druid's voice sounds a little deep.
But I guess I'm so used to the HoMM 2's looks that they're my favourite.

I must disagree here.
A dead animal on his head signifies the druid's unity with the animal and Nature in general.
The antlers are usually considered symbols of male potency, strength and protection. In addition, the image is often associated with woods, wild animals, and hunting. Finally, its origins are easy to trace in various cultures. The Celts had a horned god named Cernunnos, usually portrayed with a stag:
This deity was worshipped as "the lord of animals, wild things and the hunt".
The stag is obviously the totem of the new Druid.
By the way, horns have always been a phallic symbol of sexuality as well. Perhaps that's where the English word "horny" comes from?

Seriously though, you are probably right - the historic druids wore white robes, similar to those above.
However, we are not discussing the religious order here, but an elder of a fantasy race. The Elf stereotype is not a faithful copy of a Celt or an American Indian either.

I voted the "normal" druid from H5, cause he is younger than the elder and therefor is more willing to go on adventures and discoveries than his older pendant

I'd say the dead animal on his head signifies the druid's support for killing animals for purely decorative purposes.
And as to hiding in a forest wearing a purple robe... I never expressed any kind of opinion on the HoMM2 Greater Druid, did I?

Nice job Fofa, you took Vlaad's Idea and went on with it, nice!
I ope that will encourage more HC users to do so, as we can cover more when working together
The Druid...
HOMM I Druid looks wierd! what's up with that pathetic looking face?!
The expresion in the eyes of that man (by the face it doesn't look totaly like a man, but anyway...) sais: "kill me quickly so I can leave this cursed world".
The HOMM II Druids have nice sounds, and have sireous faces, but the robes look like bath robes to me
The new Druids rock!
Both regular and elder druids look great, like they realy came out of the forest! We can see they are Elves (they should be Elves), and they look powerfull (check out the Elder's buff physicue), and I think that shows that they are not only magicians, but also warriors, raised and trained at the forest. Another good feature is the "progression" you can see from the regular Druid to the Elder Druid. You can see that the regular one is younger, smaller, not a buff, and has less equipment.
That shows that he is still kind of new to the traid. The Elder Druid, on the other hand, look much more powerfull, has more equipment and looks older, indicating that he has been serving his kind for many ears and mastered the magical powers of nature. Besides, both just look cool!
I voted HOMM V Elder Druid.
