OK

The fact that I made that post gives away another bad habit of mine...

Not being able to overcome my impulsive nature  When I get a thought in my head sometimes I cannot stop myself from voicing it.

This has lead to the death of threads don't let me become another thread killer

heehee

I have that habit, too.

Another thing (I don't know if this qualifies as a habit) is that I swear in multiple languages when I'm extremely angry (which, fortunately, doesn't happen too often).    I'm pretty even tempered most of the time, but if you test my patience way too many times, I just explode.  To this day, only 3 people have seen this ugly side of me.

This cost me a lot of money when playing poker! (I am trying to fix this habit by playing poker - since in this game you get punished badly for being impulsive.) I can now patiently sit for 5 hours and make $200-300, but then I would lose it all in one bad impulsive bet

Btw, check out this video - it is about me break.com/top_rated/pokerroom1.html

Actually, you don't need a poker face to play poker. When I play and there's like $200 on the table and I make a huge bet, I get so nervous that I start shaking, etc. BUT it doesn't do s**t for my opponents. Whether I am scared that they'll call my bluff or whether I am excited about winning with the nuts - I have exactly the same reaction. So, it is always funny to see people trying to school me about "hiding my emotions and working on my poker face" (after they fold to my bluff or call my raise that they weren't supposed to call). There's one rule though: DO NOT LIE WHEN THEY ASK QUESTIONS and also I don't think it is a good idea to look at them. When you lie you give out signs and help them make the right decision (lie detectors work on what? 85% of people? and very good poker players ARE lie detectors.)

Hehe, I am decent, actually, until I get tired or have a bad beat - that is where I start making mistakes like the one in the video

And on the subject of cracking bones, I have a habit of snapping my wrists.  Just extend the fingers and bend the wrist slightly.  I haven't met another person who can do this though.

Holy Hell, you have got to be kidding me.  Back in Highschool when I started going to a computer graphics class I noticed my wrists would get stiff and it seemed to me the only way to help was...snapping my wrists.  What sucked was the guy who sat next to me gave me a funny look and asked if I was fruity or something.

*sigh* I bite my nails... boredom habit. I also think I have a touch of ADHD, I have serious hyperactive issues... I'm always twitching my foot or something. And I have the pillow disease!! I must have a pillow in my lap while I sit at all times. It's weird.

Oh please let me play you Russ lol.
Yes it does help to have a poker face when it comes to playing for the big money.
It is so hard when you put your whole tournament on the line or a cash game when you put almost all your cash on the line.
After playing with the same oponent for awhile.
You get to study thier patterns & how they react to certain play.
You cant hit the nuts all the time
