Okay as usual, I am confused. Was hoping some more experienced players could explain a few things to me.....
In a recent game vs. Arangar we both had 21 defense and hit 750 Marksman was doing 52 damage on high end. My 1250 skel archers was doing like 90 damage I suspect because of the high defense.
So.... in a recent game on hourglass I am running with Arch Angels and Paladins. And I have 28 defense. Only I cannot keep my paladins and angels from dying. So how is my angels taking over 200 damage with 28 defense and in previous game level 2's bearly took 90 damage with defense of 21?
Problem #2--
Neutral stack of 12 sprites cast wasp swarm and do 20 damage.... Then in a game I got 360 sprites and when I check in there book it says they will inflict 56 damge???????????????? How can 12 sprites do 20 damage wasp swarm and 360 sprites do 56 damage? What am I missing?

First problem: there might be several reasons, so its hard to comment (e.g., if this was range attack and squires were near, etc.)
Second problem: all is ok, the growth of casters damage is not linear. As i'm again lazy to type it all , just check this (somewhere around page 11):
Appendix to Celestial Heavens Guide

quite simple damage of spells is not x*y its const+x*y and if that x is very low the const value will have a higher impact there for even with very high numbers it will still produce low damage (thats why people always split spell casters to get extra damage..)
