if its all new then its not very likely that there will be anything from the previous heroes in the new one. However.... i would want some things from heroes three. i would like to see xsi and rashka unless anyone knows something that has happened to them that i dont

Not settled in Ashan? So do you believe that somehow the two land masses can be incorporated in a Heroes game? That would make sense of the references to Crag Hack and Sandro. I also think you need to back yourself up more on the Nicolai in Heroes 5 is different from 3 thing. There is a very good chance that it is the same "Nicolay". I would expect in a future Heroes game that we will see the connection of the two "continents" if you will.

You want a proof that this a different Nicolay? Fine. In Heroes 3 he is the son of Roland, in Heroes 5 he is the son of Alexei. Now unless he is "a son of a hundred fathers" I would say those two are different people.

That was quite an assertive tone! Even so that still does not explain how there could not be a connection between Ashan and the old "worlds" or "continents" of previous heroes games. If the developers of Heroes 5 really wanted to eradicate previous history, they should have not mentioned the names of heroes such as Crag Hack. I doubt many would object to this opinion (it's quite obvious).
This should answer weekofrabbits's post. Yes there are some references to the past and there needs to be something to fill the gaps.

Heroes 1-3 were aet in the same universe called Palaendra, Heroes 4 went to Axeoth when the Frozen Sword and Armageddon Blade clashed...
In Heroes 4 some of old heroes were coming back, because when the two sword were clashed, a portal is open.
And, yeah...I want my Gelu and Brissa back!

If Ashan is in a compelely different universe than that desroyes the whole Heroes timeline! H1-3 were in the same universe, just on different continents. H4 I'm not sure about, but all the really cool heroes went through the portal and survived. And Yann is right, if Ubi planned on a entirely different universe they wouldn't make any refrence to Crag or Sandro, yet Sandro's name is all over the Necro heroes' biographies. I didn't se Crag Hack anywhere, but I don't play H5 so that's not saying much. But most of all...
I want Gelu back!!!!!

Crag's name is in some bildings descriptions, and other objects descriptions  , and OK in H5 we can see in the texts, that Sandro is dead, but we can't see this for Crag! But who is Syrus-unknown mage, and he can kill Sandro? Nival I hate you 
And in H5 Markal kill Syrus, and Markal is Sandro's student. Sandro is stronger, than Markal?

Yann, I'm sorry if I offended you or anyone else, that was not the point. I apologize.
As for the reference of Sandro and Crag Hack... well I don't really have a convincing answer for that, except that these reference are a kind of tribute to the previous Heroes games. That still doesn't mean that these are the same Sandro and Crag Hack and that they should appear in the game.

Unless Ashan is in a parrallel universe, they are the same people. And just because Sandro died doen't mean anything. He's "died" many, many times in the Heroes universe(or multiverse, if you perfer). Ashan is in the same universe. Live with it. And where is Gelu?!!!!!

That's just it, there is no real proof that Ashan is in the same universe. You can't say that Sandro is the same Sandro just because of the name. Unless it says that he tried to take over the world by using Armor of the Undead or something like this, there is no indication whatsoever that this is the same Sandro.

This is a good point and I wouldn't be suprised to see a completly new form of Crag Hack and Sandro in Heroes 5,6, etc. The Heroes developers will just use the fact they used the names as an excuse that they are following the history of previous games.
Then there is also the possiblity they will connect the two "worlds" but probably only in part. I doubt will we will see every hero we know in the game soon. I personally would like them to make a connection but that is in the hands of the developers not me.

Well if they'll find a reasonable way to connect the two worlds then I guess it's ok. The problem is they probably won't do this and will either ignore the request of bringing old heroes back or give in to the fan pressure and invent some stupid absolutely non-logical way to introduce the old heroes back into the game. Out of those two options I would prefer the former.
