2.0 Sharing experiense

Let's share some interesting finding's during the game, to not take curses on situation later.

Sowhat i found in 2.0:

1) Scholar working only to giving spells but not TAKING from other heroes.

2) Wingaal bonus is 2% on ATB per lvl, not 0.5 as in description Easy to see making fight againist Lethos. I Plase wingaal 20 lvl with mOnks (10 init) and 1-st monk Have 4.64/5.0 Poison last is 4.43? socluse is enough

3) Refresh rune need Full Turn, not Half as in description

4) Bears can't be push back "rooted dendroids" (mean when they enctangle victim), but still can stun them (need take reatliation with another unit, to not be enctangled)

5) magic arrow not affects creatures with fire immunity like Obsidian gargoyles, fire ells, Phoenixes.

6) Spells with Tome of magic cant be taught with scholar to another hero. Seems it honest.

7) Spells from Tome wasn't affected corresponding abilities. So if hero, have "Master of Mind", have Tome of dark, and not have Confusion/slow,  he not get Mass version of that spells.

i found something very ... funny (i would have used the word "amazing", but this tends to express some positive state most of the time, which is not case now):

ppl learned first of all "tricks" , they actually are seekin them, wasting alot of energy to find a "wise" move or other to raise them above mediocrity. but in fact is like steroids on an untrained body- the heart could collapse, hardtime breathing , etc..

i.e. "how come i kill 1000 golems wiht 1 sprite? i wanna be ther god of heroes!" question that comes even before they launched the game for the first time. it's a malefic virus spreading very fast.

instead of learning basics like "magic arrow being a FIRE SPELL of course it cannot affect fire resistent units (it's like 1+1=2) they dreaming about killing utopia in first week, and take notes about how to place marksmen on the field , learning it by heart, like a poetry, and when it comes to fight archmages for instance, after killin utopia , they suicide.

my oppinion here, poetry will not save them, when they barely have few knowledge about the game mechanics, like "why this spell is unvailable or disabled in my spell book? what the snow! game is bugged"  (i have hundreds of examples when ppl whinning about something they have no clue about how it really works).

this message is supposed to have an educational purpose, its not intended make any fun or point to ghast's thread (whos remarks are pertinent afterall) i just used one of his statements to make a point outta it.

my advice, read some more, get used to system , before stating that the game is bugged, unbalanced, things dont work as "imagined",just  because there wasnt any chance to test it out.

for reference, the fans heroes manual is very good for beginning, the refined strategy will come as player IN-GAME experience (multiplayer of course) will grow.

have a nice day

He-he, you take mgaic arrow as an example?

Then why even in 1.4 it do full damage on fireresistant creatures???

And see description:

"Shots magic missile to deal nonphysical damage to selected enemy creature"

About reading manuals... They can't describe all situations. (And can be mistaken too And i also share what unusual things i larned.

And seems there is enough players that prefer taking expiriense from battles with humans, i not see nothing bad in this strategies...

I completely agree with u. i just wanted to point out the fact that game should be learned following a "normal" course, not backwards, from the depths to the basics. and few things have been corrected in 2.0.

Bottom line is H5 is just not a balanced Multiplayer game.  It is Super for single player and campaigns.  And again, I love the game. But its no where near balanced.  And before I hear Teachers 2 cents.....which I know I will   If this game was balanced you wouldnt have to be worring about overpowered dominate heroes or towns on this map or that maps etc. There has got to be a way to let the towns maintain a certain sense of uniquness and SMALL advantage without sacrifcing the balance.

As SQ pointed out and I witnessed.  Wyngaal and his entire team got to move before ANY of my men. When I got a chance to blink, my army was desimated. All it took was a couple " Luck + Favorite + ElvenLuck " hits and I was dust. So not only did his entire army get to wack at me before I could do anything but his wacking army all did something like 150% more then normal damage? Hell EVEN if I was a low down dirty player that wanted to imploy Hit and Run as a defense, I wouldnt beable to. ( as a side note...I even had Staff of Netherworld )

And after further thinking on it SQ.... its not the maps fault. So no need to quit playing Hourglass.  Its the games fault.. Just have to learn the unbalances and take the towns/heroes outta certain maps. i.e. I personally wont take on Sylvan on HG. Not worth the hours hours of playing just to watch Sylvan team fight in battle while I get beat down before I get a turn lol.

ANyways....enough babbling...I am back to my map....had to extend its release a small bit trying to find some ways of balancing the factions up a bit. But without the availability of scripts, not sure it will be possible.

Still though... looking back at H3, heroes like Crag Hack and the logistics hero were more overpowering and disbalanced in my opinion. But like in homm3, players can make mutual rules etc...

Think of it this way, there were far more rules/parameters made by homm3 players than homm5 players... because I feel that homm3 was less balanced than homm5.

If I started a clan, I would probably go the Dungeon or Academy route.  I know ppl don't like them, but they are fun to play for me...

He-he, Ves, Offense in HOMM3 worked only To base damage, not modified by attack/def, so Crag's specialisation, simple give to him +6 att at lvl 20 (if he have expert offense at that time).

Dessa Gunnar and Kyrrie yeh, they truely owerpowered.

Ghasteater, thanks for the info in your first post. I'll check them again in 2.1 monday, in case some points were whanged there, and I'll update the corresponding details in the manual.

About Magic Arrow, it does not have an associated element in 1.x (yet?), that's why it fully damages fire resistant creatures. It is a fire spell only in 2.0 (that at least is already in the manual ).
