Maradona without a second thought.I mentioned my thoughts why Maradona is the BEST player ever in the other tread(Brazil is the best) so i 'm boring to say the same things twice.
MARADONA u can say whatever u want about this player but the point is that whenever we are hearing this name we all pay our respect
Note to a moderator:Could u make this tread, a voting? It would be better i think if that is possiple,ty.

The 94 Cup was amazing, but the best cup was in 82.
Great teams, like France, Germany, Italy, Argentina and Brazil, of course.
Great players, like Zico, Platini, Paolo Rossi, Maradona, Lotthar Mathaus (forgive me if wrong, his name is very hard to write).

To say which one was a better player would be to eliminate their weaknesses. You have to go through time to work out which one was better. I would rule out Beckham because he's overrated but here are a few others I would rule out as well.
George Best, could have been better than Pele, but was way too fond of the bottle. Even so, he did create a new way of life for footballers, he invented rock and roll football.
Maradona was a great player, especially in his youth. He was even credited with the best goal ever scored in a world cup. However, his weaknesses was drugs.
And we all remember Zidane headbutting Materrazzi, and Cantona kung-fu kicking a fan back in the mid nineties.
So that leaves us with the few who have hardly faltered during their careers. Pele, Cruyff, Charlton, Lineker, Henry, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho.
And with Ronaldinho doing oh so well at Barca (which Cruyff famously joined after refusing to join Real Madrid because the Madridians were run by Francisco Franco), he could surpass Pele as the greatest.
Only time will tell.

Ronaldinho will never surpass Pele, not because Ronaldinho dont play well, he is a genius, but Pele is the king in every way, head, left leg, rigth leg, domain of the ball, pass, shoot, defense, offense.
He is the most complete player and the most skilled and the most tallentous in all time.

During the fews years when Ronaldo played for Barcelona he was the best player the world has ever seen. He was simply unstoppable, perhaps he wasn't complete, he's clearly just a goalscorer. But he was outstanding, no one was even close to him. Pele might have played well for more than a decade but there were not so many good players back then; the competition was not as great as today.
I think that if you look upon all of his career Pele is the best ever. But on the other hand strikers had an easier time.
