how to make water non-transparent?

I just got back to making a map I left under development in November. While testing, I realised that the 'sea' I made is transparent, and the grass is visible on the bottom...
Does anyone know how this can be changed(without using rivers)?
BTW, I don't know why 'lower' function works only with 3x3 tool in the underground.

Thanks in advance for replies.

I don't think you can change it - I've never seen a map where that's the case. I know you said don't use rivers, but why don't you want to just go over it with the river tiles? Otherwise you could try changing the tiles underneath to some dark coloured ones to see if that gets you the look you'd like.

Nobody understands why Nival were dumb enough to make only the 3x3 lowering tool work underground - it's just bad design but then I don't know a way around it.

Thanks for reply.
I know rivers are one way, but I wanted to retain cliffs on the shore easily. Sad there is no other way.

There is a way to make it!!

Thanks to ZOMBIE LORD, whose map I downloaded, I learned that you have to use:
map sttings tree -> reflective water -> change to true.
Quite simple.

THANKS ZL!!!
I shall remeber about you in my daily prayers . For some time, at least .

I don't know how I missed this thread, probably I would have told you yesterday
Anyway, I'm glad I helped you with my map

btw, you can't imagine how hard I found that thing, and that was after I made rivers, and then I had to repair the cliffs
