But we can Jiels
I mean all getting along

I talk with alot of TOH-players when Im on the zone, who Ive never played. Why?, y might ask. Well coz we dont share the same feeling for what kinda maps are fun.
I dont doubt a second that playing any kinda heroes, requires a lot of skill. Its just different type of skill to different type of maps.
Just played Melissa in a clan game on BFH. That was a fun game for me, coz she did something completely unexpected on me. Instead of sending the usual 2-3 scouts up against me (She played red) I suddenly had 5 scouts running around. Me as castle and no magic arrow in guild, and at the same time she build guild in her stronghold city, I was completely messed up. Didnt expect that many scouts, and didnt expect her to have magic arrow.
What saved me was my choice of hero. I took 350 gold hero, and luckily enough I got one more from tavern. So I made angels and castle week 1 with 250 gold to spare
The reason that was so important was that at that stage I only had 4 heroes left, and one of them was sailing, no way in hell could I reach my trading post.
Suddenly all my normal strategies for playing BfH as blue was blown to peaces.
Reason why I tell this little story, is coz I wanted to tell u what I find enjoyable when playing TOH. I know u prolly have another way of finding enjoyment in the games, and I respect that .
Guess thats where we should be going, specially since the community is large enough to support all kinds of different styles.
We just gotta remember to keep the respect for those that play the game differently than ourselves
And Wiggy Red Orb has been editted out in allmost all TOH maps, and as thats the only types I play, guess I didnt mention it, coz I forgot it, lol.
Recanters will always be the game winner for me

I'm not trying to be mean or flame anyone I just have a hard time with people who feel their opinion is the only one that matters.

I've been talking a lot more on the zone as well.  I've been meeting a lot of new friends through clans, b@st@rds, myths, and through my friends.  I'm just a little touchy at the moment. :-(  Lack of sleep does that to me.

It does seem on the zone that there are little cliques, groups that spend most of their time making fun of others.  And that I don't like.  A lot of toh players I had respect for, lost it when I saw that.  And it saddens me to see great players not get the respect they deserve.

There are a lot of players on the zone that are great.  To name a few; Qu_Purple, Zud, Greystole, Uncoated Titan, JTL, Defreni, Mocara, Kitten Angel, Drunken Merlin, and TvGenie.
They may not be the greatest of players but they are really cool people in the zone!

And your game against Melissa sounds like a lot of fun!  Too bad the people I have played on Bfh always played one way. :-(

Isn't there like a famous quote or something that says: Respect is given to those that give it?

It seems for some people, you don't give respect until you've played them or unless you play their way. *shrug* I can't say I agree.

well, thanks jiels for all your input and comments.  They are also welcome.

perhaps I can explain this thread and it's purpose:

when I first posted this, it was during the time when I was playing maps like: hg, bm, cc ... the closed BIG maps with lots of relics + one utopia.
At this time I grew bored of these maps ... where the hero development FAR outreached the creature growth ... where one bolt would kill an entire stack, and where one resurrect would revive an entire stack.
(note) - if hero development overshadows creature growth, then there exists no point in using spells like bless, counterstrike, fire shield, etc..

Basically about 80% of the big battles on these maps I had back then went like such:
- round 1: both sides cast implode
- round 2: both sides cast resurrect
- repeat these OVER and OVER...

the side that won was the hero that had more spell points.  There was no point in fighting ... because the creature would be resurrected ALL THE WAY anyway.

I started questioning the fun of these battles ... and also the maps ... so I posted this thread to see other peoples opinions.

Also, I was making my map FISHY at the time... a map that has TONS of battles / interaction, and where most of them are small battles.  Fishy was a success, because it led me to develop my map HotSpot ... a MUCH better map.

So, thank you for all your comments and future comments.  I see that there are all types of preferrences here.

PS - look for HotSpot and water-crossing when they're on the toh maps board.  They are both open AND closed maps ... each has a utopia, but I added a little deterrent to them ...

in Hotspot- utopia guarded by 16 b.dragons (on savage of course)
in water crossing- utopia buried in a maze that takes 7 days to reach one way.

no relics in HotSpot, one in very middle of water-crossing.  Relic = tome of water  ;P

Hehee Wiggy, guess u never stepped on a stack then.
If u step on a stack = No ressurection untill stack is killed
Played Zud on DoG, he had to clone his arch angels coz I had placed blackies on one of his stacks.
Needless to say I imploded his real stack of Archies, just to see the clones vanish, lol.
