But in H5 Colossuses are creations of the Wizards
And i dont think Colossoses "lives" in greek mythology, only Titans.

Yea. A lot of things is from norse mythology, dwarves, runes, elves, giants, giant wolfs, giant ravens, valkyries, 10.000 wyrms, trolls etc.

Yeah, arcane archer is a lamerish name But coloses do exist in the greek mythology, and just as coloses in heroes5 are created by wizards, giants in h5 can be too. Besides elves are not ONLY in the northen mythology and goblis were not created by tolkin - ents are - that's why i say the name treent is plagiatorish and balrogs were too so that name is just as plagiatorish. Goblins, hobgoblins, elves, faires and dwarves in european mythology were insect-szed creaturwes usually considered not too good. Gremlins were quite like them - only the first gremlin stories originate from world war1. Besides if Tolkin had created goblins that wouldn't be in LotR as they are mentioned in HOBIT too. Balrogs are fire demons and BALROG in the ancient elven language (that info comes from silmarilion by Tolkin though there is a Balrog in LotR too) means somthing like Great Demon. Ents and Huorns  were quite like threes but where able to move, speak see listen - like a threa-man. They are slightly mentioned in Silmarilion and play a great role in LotR. So the best name for a silvan three-man unit is deneroid - treaent is plagiatorish.

Yes, but the orginal elfs/dwarfs were from norse mythology.
I think thatt the fortress tier 6 creature is some kind of giant, some say so.
I dont think Tolkien created ents/treants/walking trees. Folklore.
And in Age of Mythology the Norse faction had ents.

Yeh but it makes no difference.
I could name my "walking trees" Andagor if i wanted too, its still the same thing.
Also i think Treant sounds better than Ent in a game ;P
But in a book, i would come up with something new.

@Serpent2: You mean dendroid, don't you? I agree with you... by the way, this was the name of 'walking trees' in H3... Why change? just to become similar to LoTR?

@Xerox: Giants are not only North myths... There are Giants in the Greek myths as well (Orion, the one who loved Artemis, for example). And there were also Titans. As far as I understand, once we are talking about Titans and Colossus, the Giants from H3 were more similar to the Greek myths than the nordic ones...

But... Where the F... did they find the name "Arcane Archer"??? Will he have any "Arcane" Ability? Lol! I still do not like 'Vampire Prince'... and I prefered Quasit instead of 'Vermin'...

But... Who am I?... Only a player...

Acutally, you can find giants in folklore, all around the world, as well as dragons(though all in HoMM5 are from vesteren europe) , small people (dwarfs, goblins ect.), demons, undead, and so on.

Yeah I meant dendroid and I don't like the new name exactly cus It's similar to LotR.  Besides the name of sylvan lvl3 alt is most unfortunetly arcane archer in TotE - I just got it.

@Xerox - NO, NO, NO - THERE IS NO MYTHOLOGICAL CREATURE THAT YOU CAN SAY ORIGINATeS FROM ONE OR ANOtHR MYTHOLOGY! IN THE TIME THEESE MYTHS WERE BORN SOME NATIONS JUST COULDN"T HAVE GOTTEn CREATURES THAT ARE IN THEIR MYTHOLOGY FROM OTHER NATIONS HAVING SIMILAR CREATUREs IN THEiR MYTHOLOGY! The creature "giant" exists under some form in every mythology: Greek - Giant, Colosus, Titan. North - Giant, Throll. Russian - Bogatir, AMERICAN INDIANS - The Windigo. The creature drago as well: Indian - Naga, Chinese/Japanese/Corean: Dragon as a flying large snake. European - Including Greek - Large Lizardlike flying beast. Slaviyanian - Zmey a.k.a. Zmey Goryanin (trnaslated Serpent) being both a Chinese dragon - like beast and a hansom young man with reptile scales on his scin. Somethimes appearing as a fireball or riding the fearus mountain winds And covering the sun (in those cases named Hala). As many other slaiyanian mythology beasts inhabits the "Deep Forests of Tililea".

Its hard to read when you do caps lock and wall of text ;P

What i said was that i dont think that folklore was first with giants and some other things.

As norse/greek/mythologys are much older than folklores.

Folklore IS Mythology - we don't meen modern folklore but the earliest forms of folklore which are legends and myths and THEN come fairytales and so on until today's bul****y city folklore having the purpouse to scare litle kids - like Boogy-man.
