ERM errors in wogified maps

Hy everyone!

I have a problem with wogified maps. When an AI hero attacks a monster, I get an ERM error message. It says:
ERM syntay ERROR.
File: monsters
Line:5450
Reason: ERROR! Attempt to use "!!BH"" in non-human battle (use flag 1000 for checking)
Save all ERM vars to WOGERMLOG.TXT? (May take time)
N?v38;
!!HE-20&v38<>-1:A2/163/0/?v33;
!!HE-20&v38<>-1:S15/?v35;
!!HE-20&
ERM command has a wrong syntax. Skipped.
N?v38;

And there's another immediately afret the first:

ERM syntax error!
File: erm
Line:6645
Reason: "HE$"- cannot find hero (out of range)
Save all ERM vars to WOGERMLOG.TXT? (May take time)

A2/163/0/?v33;
!!HE-20&v38<>-1:S15/?v35;
!!HE-20&v38<>-1:S17/?v37;
?!B
ERM command has a wrong syntax. Skipped.
A2/163/0/?v33;

What does these mean? And how can I correct them?

If You extract the savegame, then error code above will refer approx. to the line in your hexa editor. So I can't figure out, wich script failed, w/o a savegame. You can search the extracted savegame for the code above, to find it's location.

Also, is the map scripted? Are there scripts in the timed events section? They should read something like Day 500 or so. If so, you cannot WoGify the map.

some maps (e.g. peasant leader) can be wogified

That may be true. But as a rule, any map with timed erm scripts in them are not to be WoGified. If it is you will get tons of Syntax Errors. Especially with older WOG maps: circa 3.57f

Hi, we have a similar problem. Downloaded a simple heroes3 map and a bit modified it with the wog map editor, and started to play with it. Two human and many computer players. It was totally ok for a loong time, so we are pretty deep in that gameplay (like 4-5 months in the game).. and the last time we played it started to display this

"ERM sytax error
file: monsters
line: 5522
Error: attempt to use "!!BU" in non human battle (use flag 1000 for checking). save all ERM vars to WOFERMLOG.TXT?"

when a non-human hero attacked a creature which appeared on the map on its week sometime before.

Similar (I dont know if it was exactly the same error message, but a similar one) happened before, when the other human player attacked some troglodyte which appeared on the week of troglodyte (every time he clicked on them or other troglodytes to attack - for me there was no problem when I defeated them..)..

if we clicked on anything (yes or no) in the error message (couldn't click at anything else at all) more messages appeared with some text which was full gibberish for us but maybe not for someone who understand this programming stuff.

Maybe I havent read the pervious problems carefully enough but the question of how to fix this still remains unsolved for me. Can you help us?

Hi. If the map contains internal scripts, then at least one of them uses the same function ID as wog scripts do.

Ok then, so what can we do? Sorry I'm pretty dumb when it comes to solving some problem in a program.

Open map in editor, go to map properties, "Events" tab and delete everything there.

If the map has internal scripts, don't wogify (you are asked and warned before map loads). Thats all.

Also, we played this map for along time, when these error messages started to appear. What might be the problem all of a sudden? Can it be solved, so that we can continue playing?

Well, if you are using Era (not wog 3.58) then you can upload a save before the error + a list a active mods then someone will investigate. WoG 3.58 error are no longer fixed.

You can try to load in era and see how it goes. But better restart in era, safer.

Cant load in era:/ (offers to solve the problems, but then nothing happens for a long time - and i dont think we have a save before the errors) I guess that gameplay is over then. Thanks for the help!
