See Ves ? Anwser lays 2 posts above. People just dont know how to start a ToH game. They are too lazy to go through topiccs to find the solution and therefore go to different places where they have easier acces to information.. thats why i suggested sticking noobie guide on the first page of forum or even place topic in main page of toh right beside registration of new players. I think it will help much. veterans can get info easily , info for new players should be and should be in visible place so they dont need to look for it.

They are either stupid than, or dont give too much about the game...my guess is the later.
Atm its the age of "easy games for the masses", World of Warcraft is the best example...serious players that want real depth still play stuff like EQ, the rest plays WoW.Same with h5, the players who really care about the heroes series still play H3 mostly. The rest plays H5...well sometimes i guess.
Thats a big load of crap , Please keep you delusional / misinformed thoughts to yourself

I like feluniozbunio's idea, it might clutter the page but it might help newbi activity, perhaps just a few tips like registering for msn and a link to the page that has all the players email adresses for it would help a lot.
Maybe we should be a bit less negative to newer players in these threads too, I think I wouldn't want to join reading some of the posts on here if I didnt know there were so many nice players.

Quote: what I never understood is why people don't report their games no matter what 'league' they are playing in. They are registered in multiple leagues after all.
Anyways, ToH won't be disappearing, other leagues are fads that come and go, it has been so for ages... ie. 10 years.
Probably, TOH is not perceived at the prestige level it used to be - thats why many players dont make multi reports...
As for fads, you're probably right, Ves... BUT, we should not make mistake of extrapolating past in a very dynamic internet/multiplayer realm! There are too many signs that contradict your optimistic perspective...
I would name at least two areas TOH needs to improve:
1. Getting into circle of Heroes information flow in all major portals and UBI servers.
2. Web design, FUNCTIONALITY and access for noobs that attunes with modern online/multiplayer industry standards.
Obviously, this would require additional resources from our heroes patriarch... After all, TOH has always existed because of Vesuvius devotion and money

Quote: hahaha...prolly lots of WOW players among the H5 guys.
Face it, you are playing watered down games for the masses.
lol, man
I'm very experienced player and been around since Heroes 2. And I can say this with 100% assurance - H5 is the most complicated game in all of the series in terms of strategic depth and tactical versatility
I should note though that I was very concerned about these aspects when H5 was announced... I even was pissed off that Ubisoft would make step-by-step strategic flagmanship into commercial bluff...
Can you imagine my relief and delight when it turned 100% OPPOSITE - Heroes 5 is the blockbuster in all aspects

Well i did make such mini guide , it is in a topic "New Players" but the topic drowned to bottom of second page and i doubt that new people even look that far. I adviced sticking that when i was writing it but i got no response. From what i know the only person responsible for everything in TOH is Ves and Im sorry but i have the feeling that Ves doesnt care much about it anymore so the outcome is as it is.

yes yes ves this ves that. It seems the fate of the entire community depends on ves, and if the community fails, its ves's fault. Unfortunately we've been down this path since 3D0, now UBI. Until I become a level 46 magic user, and conjure up at least $25 million to buy the franchise (neither is very likely IRL), we will rest on the publisher's laurels... not mine.
Remember that since 1998 I have never been paid a cent to do this, and as other tournament fad sites come and go, ToH will remain with its history and activity intact.

Hear Hear!
While I'm a heroes veteran, I'm a newcomer to the world of online multiplayer (heroes or otherwise). TOH being associated with AOH was the obvious place to go, and the one that I knew most about.
I for one appreciate that you have the site up and running and that there is a fun score/medal system in place.

History - yes! Activity... what activity???
And of course, "Ves this Ves that" You are Heroes online community Godfather, want it or not... And IMHO, TOH need financial and managerial investment in order to survive lest fade away literally in aisles of history
Yes, Ves! We all know that you pay for the whole community, but someone has to... Simply put, if Ves wont sponsore TOH with appropriate financial influx, "former unofficial world championship in Heroes" will become a place for a few faithfull fans who will age together to a natural end... sadly, it would include me among that mournful party....

hi all,
i'm a new player and for my opinion many veteran player must try to
play with all and not only with the same player.
I'm always on chat in msn in ubi and in hamachi but i play usually
with the same player that have already play with me..
Many times and many player say to me that i'm not in a clan or that i use timing to quick or other excuse for not to play..
we can change many thing to the site and choose many other new rules but if the "system" remain so hard for new player will be always hard to play and with this not so exciting to play for toh.
Veteran and expert player must talk more with new player and most of all play more.

Not too late thou..bring back some good old H3 tourneys, show the game most peeps loved some respect again + give emī a place where they can meet like the zone was ---> watch TOH grow again.
But this wonīt happen of course, so who cares.
You can play and report h3 games in ToH...but not much ppl doing it. When all h3 plaers are inactive and not play/report you cant expect turnaments.
Don't know why many ppl never try h5 but talk for it how crap is. If you compare h3 3.2 vs h5 1.0 you are right ....but its not correct. You can compare h3 1.4 with h5 1.41 and h3 Armagedons vs h5 2.1 when out last expansion on h5 we can compare in real both games. What i like most in h5 is here not option for Cheat like h3. Many ppl in h3 cheat all games and this kill all fun.
Stufs are never only good or bad. Try h5 HoF 2.1 and you will see game is ok.

Seriously, if u impose time limit, its hard to find a game... because anyone who knows the game well will not finish a turn in 2-3 min
Play no time limit, and games will come by easier.
A clan helps of course, since the veterans will get no points in the ladder ranking, the clan is a bonus for them

Are you a doom prophet or something? Those who still play H3 good for them but others may be tired to continue and not move on. It's not just about H5, many people have remained since then and free time tends to be shortened as people get older.

You donīt get many people for H3, if you say: This IS a H5 tourney, but you can also report H3 (cause you bugged me, so here you have it..).
What TOH would need to do is saying: This is a H5 AND H3 tourney.
Why is that so hard to understand? The glory times have been with H3, what does H5 have to do with it actually? Just coz it has the same name? Ttīs not even the same people who made it..the soul of TOH has been taken away, itīs so obvious it actually makes me laugh.
I'm no't against h3 turnaments. If ToH make it my team from h5 will play in h3 (and kick ass )too. So if you realy want to have h3 turnaments on ToH make new tread and send link to all your friends. When many ppl post here they will join/play for h3 turmanets you can be sure Ves will make
P.S. Hope you don't want h3 turnaments only for $ rewards.
