Your Life Philosophy
In this thread, please tell us about your life philosophy.
Tell us your motto, your life attitude, the way you see things, etc.
My Life Philosophy
Motto: Always look at the bright side of life
You can see everything that happens to you as a good or a bad thing. It's all about the way you look at it. When something bad happens to you, something that you can't change, instead of being depressed about it, laugh about it. Look at the bright side.
When something embarrassing happens, people around you say "In many years you'll laugh about it". But why shouldn't you laugh right now?
Life is going to end someday. The point is how you spend the time til you die.
You can be sad and depressed that you will die someday. Will it help you?
Life is a terminal illness. I have never heard about a person that came out of it alive.
It's your choise how to pass your life; dragging yourself sadly and slowly, or went through them leaping happily.
You can wake up every morning tired and annoyed, towards another boring day. You can wake up and start dancing, happy that another day has come.
Never take things to hard, it's very unhealthy. Take everything easily.
Many researches have been made about how happiness affects healthiness.
In one of them, they took hundreds of people that had a very hard sickness. They gave all of them the same treatment, but only for half of them they made smile, made them laugh, incouraged them, and gave them a positive attitude. The number of the people that survived the sickness was larger by 60% at the half that had the positive attitude.
I don't mean to decry things, or to not being serious with what you do.
I mean to look at the good side and not taking things too hard.
You can use everything "bad" that happens to you as a good thing.
For example, switch the word "problem" with the word "opportunity".
Life will look totally different.
The shortest distance between two people is the smile.
Smile to people. It has been checked by a few researches that people like better people that smile to them. Smiling to the people around you will make you and them to feel much more comfortable.
Smile and others will smile around you. How wonderful is it to be in a society where a lot of people smile
Every time you smile, small amount of hormone is poured to your brain. This hormone makes you feel a bit happier.
What means that we smile becuase we are happy and happy becuase we smile. So all you have to do is to smile to start this wonderful chain.

I have no specific philosophies, just some practical thoughts.
-Most people are stupid, watch out for mishaps coming out of nowhere.
-Take nothing for granted.
-Life is not fun if you never take risks or push your luck.
-No reason to overexert yourself over something when with less work you can achieve an almost similar result. You don't need to do everything excellent, saving some energy for other things to come may be more efficient in the end. Only few things can be worthy of your full commitment.
-A few good words can alleviate one's mood and it costs nothing, people like to have their work recognized.
-Be true to yourself and others. But be cautious with what you divulge, some things are better left unsaid - at least to the vast majority out there.
-Even if you are a good person you must learn to treat people according to what they deserve. Give freely respect but if they lose it steer clear, people usually do not change.
-Challenge yourself, it gives you purpose and leads to self-improvement. Leave the ones you can't handle for later though - rash decisions are usually for the worst.

I think a man's life philosophy is a bit too complex to be fully described in a forum post or a one-sentence motto...
My life philosophy is a pretty screwed up net of songs, sayings, attitudes, books, texts, pictures, thoughts, customs, beliefs and such; and, well, that can be hard to explain at times  You can't always rely on just one straightforward motto. Through life, you'll most often use a huge mosaic of them.

Hence my reply  Besides I don't think there is a specific one that I believe above all.
You could say that my life philosophy is to live my life fully - gather good memories, experiences, accomplishments, recognition without harming anyone and trying to make things better for other people if I can help it.

isnt it a bit harsh when were talking about human life? shouldnt they have done it to all of them

I have one I just came up with a day long ago.

I had many situations like this. Once when I wanted to ask a girl I barely knew out for a walk in the town sentrum at a cafe or something, jsut hanging out. I didnt, and I regretted that after some days, because. What do you have to loose? Maybe there could have happen something great out of the chance I did not take? Short said I got betrayed by my own fear...myself. Laughs at me "Haha you couldnt do it haha!"

Orfinn has had a case of when his paranoia has taken over his mind set.
in case your wondering, there was a tv program with an episode called "Confidence and Paranoia"
your confidence tells you that you are a great guy/girl and that all that you've done is wonderful. it tends to manifest and everything that you like about yourself. your paranoia tells you that you are really bad and that your pathetic and that tends to manifest in everything your hate about yourself.

That example was long ago...5 years or so. The two past years up to now, I use my motto quite often. I jump into things!!! If it dont end with positive results...well better outcome next time
