Inferno and war machine

Inferno users, do you think that inferno balista is imba?

inferno balista is crazy if you can get you atk + knowledge = 40, and with 3 or 5 luck in late of week 3, with triple ballista and flaming arrows it can do 1200-2400 dmg in one turn, damn that thing can kill 8 magma dragons in one turn.

Get flaming arrows and it becomes worse However after the first hit or even before sometimes you can destroy it. Could be another ballista, a destructive spell, a puppet on a unit that will attack the ballista etc.

To take it out week 4 though may not be that easy

Yeah, you're right, still, i'm amazed by its power.

having good hero in week 3 asap with Inferno in ToTE is far more easier than HoF or HoMM 5

Yes, hadn't tried that earlier.. But then again only wizards and rangers had flaming arrows before tote so it was not easy to try. Demonlords and barbarians have one super duper ballista if you invest levels in it

If you're lucky, by lv 15 or 16 (excluding deleb), you'll have flaming arrows and triple ballista, normaly lv 17 , but some good heroes are impossible to have it (one of them is nebiros)

Deleb can get triple ballista whit flaming arrows quite early but Vittorio can have it even before lv10! My Vittorio killed 9 Sapphire Dragons whit his Ballista, thats some power!

Just think,Ranger with Imbue Ballista,Flaming Arrows,Tripple Ballista and ring of warmachines and imbues the balista with implosion just think lol... you will need 72 mana for one attack but just think of the sick damage 25 archangels perishes and if you have luck..........

Haven ballista is not as strong as inferno, because ballista main power is from atk and knowledge, haven is atk and def, but for vittorio, i must admit.

I don't know the chance for sylvan to have war machine in ToTE, if it is the same as the previous one, then it's only 2%, compared to inferno, 15% if i'm not mistaken.

i rarely play inferno so i not good experience with them but...
during necro campaign in tote, i think the last mission where u finally capture the stupid "flammshrein" or whatever the town was called....
the hero in that castle with its triple/flaming ballista took out my 24 ghost dragons in 1 turn lol, think it was with a luck shot or 2 but still thats huge damage from those, especially when its got about 1,000 hp too i think?

Yeah that Orlando is quite a pain in the neck.His ballista took out about 55 of my lich master in one turn.The first time i fought him i lost because didn't took out his ballista first.And the things are even worse because he didn't attack but only stays behind the moat and the walls and when you are a necromancer without war machines is quite

Better that he stays behind, you can puppet him to death after his units destroy the ballista. Considering flaming arrows he attacks you with around 30+ attack to zero defense so that explains the outrageous damage.

Rangers can get Cold Death now, which makes cold spells very useful against higher level creatures.

Wait a minute the puppet master reduces initiative so you can't hope to beat him just with that.Sure i destroyed his ballista with puppet but there's no way to defeat him just with that.

You didn't see my replay did you? Ok that was not the only thing I used and I had some army but you miss my point. At least now you can destroy a good part of his army while he just sits there when you'd be hard pressed on an open field.

I must say the inferno heroes you meet in the campaign are pretty nasty... And ! Does fiery wrath affect the ballista

thats what i first tried on orlando at the end of necro campaign, obviously i took out his ballista first and foremost with master lich and a hero turn but, puppet didnt work for me because orlando got morale very often and moved his hero for turn very quick and would cleanse, so it was frenzy that i cast the whole time till hes basically dwindled and comes out behind wall, then your army is far superior and cake to finish em..

With the spellpower you had you should play instantly anyway. Yes he did cleanse all the time so I cast puppet again Or frenzy.

Average damage done by an average level 21(could be treated as lower level with some +knowledge and +attack artifacts) enlighten hero done by flaming arrowed triple ballista:

1. Ranger: 5*(3+8)*(1+3*0.05)*3*1.5 + 150 = 434 + 3*spell
2. Demon Lord: 5*(11+8)*(1+11*0.05)*3*1.5 + 150 = 812
3. Barbarian: 5*(13+3)*(1+13*0.05)*3*1.5 + 150 = 774
4. Wizard: 5*(2+12)*(1+2*0.05)*3*1.5 + 150 = 496
5. Knight: 5*(7+4)*(1+7*0.05)*3*1.5 + 150 = 484
6. Warlock: 5*(7+4)*(1+7*0.05)*3*1.5 + 150 = 484
7. Runemage: 5*(4+6)*(1+4*0.05)*3*1.5 + 150 = 420
8. Necromancer: 5*(2+4)*(1+2*0.05)*3*1.5 + 150 = 298

Formula = BD*(A+K)*(1+A*0.05)*T*EorL
BD = base expert war machines ballista damage
A = hero's attack
K = hero's knowledge
1+A*0.05 = each attack point increases damage by 5%  
T = 3 shots due to tripple ballista
EorL = enlightenment or luck
