Necromancy
I've never played HoMM online, since my Shadow of Death and WoG are Russian versions and I can't do that, so I'm an almost complete newb compared to everyone else here.
One time, i've seen a guy play with necro and use his hero's Necromancy skill to rise Power Lichs. Is that possible, was that a hack, or am I just imagining that I saw that? If possible, can someone tell me how to do that?

Was it in a campaign?. if it was it was Sandro with the cloak of the undead king, and he had a full army so the normal liches get upgraded

In Shadow of Death expansion pack there is combine artifacts and one of them is Cloak of the Undead King.
Description for the artifact:
30% of battlefield dead are resurrected as Skeletons. If hero already has the Necromancy skill, then the percentages are added and skill level determines what will be resurrected: Basic - Zombies, Advanced - Wights, Expert - Liches.
Needed artifacts to combine Cloak of the Undead King:
Amulet of the Undertaker (neck), Vampire's Cowl (shoulders), Dead Man's Boots (feet). (Artifacts boost +30% your necromancy skill)
EDIT: Oh yeah and same thing whit Skeletons if your army is full it will raise Power Liches instead of Liches. (Cost is higher tough and you get less Power Liches)

well in my opinion, liches are really expensive for a low healthed lvl 5, although they hit hell, so if u can get them for free for each battle...
hehe... (evil laugh)
