Well Slash jumps out as the obvious choice here 
It just can't cross my mind why would you make a list with Matt Bellamy and Tom Morello, and not even mention gods like Jimmy Hendrix, Angus Young, Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler etc...
Maybe it would've been best if this thread wasn't a poll, but just about everyone saying who his/her favourite guitarist is. Cause this way you just put the Guitar Hero 3 crew and added your favorite guitarist, and everyone else falls under the "other" cathegory

You can mention him twice. Pink Floyd would be nothing without him, and they've been hot for over 40 years.
It's so hard to pick the best guitarists considering they have such different styles. Of course I could go in a completely different direction and name someone like Roy Clark who could easily be in the top ten no matter what the style.

I would love to tell you my favourit solo instead  Machine head - A farewell to arms , Solo by Phil Demmel.
I like Matt and corey from Trivium, Dragonforce guys are just wicked , Rob flynn and Phil demmel from Machine head are good too, Though I dont enjoy him that much Dave Mustaine is non the less a good guitarist, zakk wylde There are so many

Baklava you're right this list is completely absurd.
You need only one option:
Tom Morello
He's the reason I bought Guitar Hero lol.
But yeah Matt Bellamy, Jimi Hendrix, Mark Knophler, Santana and John Frusciante all rank highly.
And I know texcaboose didn't go just from Guitar Hero 3 because we had this discussion a long time ago before that game was announced and these 3 guitarists featured prominently
