This is a goodbye, but I'll still be there

As you may have noticed, I'm not a moderator here anymore. Actually, due to a disagreement with Valera, I'm not in the AoH team at all anymore. You can read the announce in the "Mod Squad Restructuring" thread:
http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=12564&pagenumber=15
with my answer a few post below (top of page 16).

First of all, this means I'll now primarily contribute in the french community. I'll make sure my work will still be available to everyone, by publishing it in english as well, and/or posting the links and explanations here.

---
Edit: As announced (in french) on heroes-fr, I have joined the team there. I'll be working in collaboration with other communities as often as possible, and I am committed to releasing multilingual versions of any useful tool we will work on.
---

Ongoing projects will be continued (H5/HoF campaigns, New Creatures Framework, Unique Heroes Models...). I'll simply host the files somewhere else. In the meantime, I assume the current files won't be removed right away from AoH servers.

The Modders Workshop will undoubtedly get a new moderator soon. I have no idea what options Valera is considering (or if he found one already), but if you feel up to the task, now might be a good time to let him know.

The modding wiki is still an unclear issue: what is for sure is that I'll continue to develop it. Since I don't have access to the current installment anymore, I'll host it somewhere else. This brings two issues:
- if you have any issue with something you contributed being transferred, just let me know and I'll remove it from the new wiki
- I don't know if the AoH wiki will be abandoned, or if someone will take care of it. If someone does, I'm open to discussing the topic, since it would be silly to duplicate resources.

Over time, I have placed various other resources on AoH pages (Curio's cheating guide, original maps, localized texts.pak, ...). Again, I don't have access to these files anymore, so any update will be done somewhere else.

In the same spirit, even if this isn't modding material, I won't be able to update any of the other pages on AoH (but the H5 data should be up-to-date for a while now). The manual page is the only one where it is a problem, since it is supposed to be the official always-up-to-date page (for links as well as credits). I still have until the next patch release to figure out the best course of action there. A permanent redirect to a new home seems like the best solution right now.

To conclude this post, I want to say that I'm really happy about everything I did here with you, and I don't consider this like an ending. At all. This is a new year and a new beginning. The community is large, and I'll just continue contributing somewhere else.

Sorry to see you go Sfidanza.  Regardless of the argument, you sure were an excellent moderator.  It's a shame really.

I want to see you apologise to Val right now.
I want you to apologise for what you did.
I dont care how much greatness you brought for all these kids in here before.
When you screw a contract, you screw the person.

Now apologise if you dont mind.

And what about you shut up and let mature people solve their issues themselves ? This is something between Valera and Sfidanza and you have no right to interfere with their matter.

@Sfidanza : see ya on the french community ^^

BIGJOCKER, answering your questions is a full time job!
But I'll try to keep up, yes.

Aculias, I don't mind your insults, but since I don't want any escalation here, I'll just add a word about the contract with Valera: some of it was done, some of it was paid. The two parties simply do not agree on their relative value. You have no element to make an opinion, and I don't think Valera is asking for a public arbitrage about how much my time is worth.

I don't think you (Aculias) are really interested in what I say. But this answer is also meant for others that would like to defend me: it's all right, let it go.

No idea of the details, but I am deeply saddened to see you go sfidanza!  I have only begun the modding of HoM&M V for about a month now, and the help I was given by you was more than all the rest put together.

This Forum and Community just lost out on a great help.  Man, I am bummin', wish I had been here for a while instead of just starting out.

Please keep in touch and let us know where your stuff will be now.  You do extremely good work.

Thanks,
Sunjah

I see.

What I hate to see is something like this to happen.
I known Val for yrs & he has done so much for us.
HC AOH & other stuff just for us & himself & you etc.

I hate to see anything like this happen to him.
I respect what he has done & I do not mind speaking my mind about it.

I'm Happy to hear that you'll not abandon the community here.

@Acu
I've said it before:
The most important part of this decision (the way I see it) is whether the software was worth the money or not and only the people who have professional knowledge and have seen it work can judge whether the payments were worth it or not
No one is doubting that a Val does a great deal of work for this community (and I am very astonished that he has 667 euros to spend for this community...either he is loaded or he is a very selfless men...or the software was indeed worth the money [but well doesn't seem so from Vals point of view]) but I don't see how you can't see that this is nothing that can be judged by us. It honors you that you trust Val's decision blindly and of course you know everyone here around better than many but nevertheless this doesn't give you the right to judge sfidanza. I am saying this without the intention to defend him but for the sole purpose that I see this as a fact which should undisputeable.

What does it matter? The amount of money shoudn't change wheter it is up to us to judge them or not. Nevertheless st's a lot of money... 667Euros = 980,1565 $

EDIT:
'Ok listen pretty boy

You dont have to be a butt about it though.
I am not being a butt about anything you are! You are the one insisting on the fact that your demands have to be met (Sfidanza apologizeing, etc.) as Sfidanza must be wrong. Your reasons for saying that he is wrong are:
1. Val says so
2. He broke a contract
Those are not reasons for you however to judge him! A broken contract does not prove the issue over which Sfidanza got kicked out! Once again the issue is the not refunded money! I've my reasoning is wrong please point out where instead of just whineing about how evil and bad Sfidanza is. I'm not wanting to fight but I don't see how you can think you are in any right to insult people just because they don't share your point of view over Sfidanza.
You can have your opinion but you can't judge him because you don't have enough knowledge as I've allready pointed out.

EDIT 2:

ALmost a 1000 dollars.
Now was that so hard to say dude?
A simply thank you for looking the exchange rate up for you would have been enough.
And btw 1 Euro = 1,4695 $... now was that so hard to look up dude?

I am so sorry to hear that. I believe that the contract issue can only be dealt between the associated parties; other people will have no rights to comment on. Since you start the Apperance mod, i really appreciate all your great efforts in developing the package and i trust that you can finally conclude that development successfully. I almost come to this website every day in order to see the progress. Now it becomes that you have to go elsewhere and i can never understand French... Quite disappointed...

this is my email...hope you tell me any new updates about the mod or any new forums that you will participate in the future..it seems that i will say goodbye to this forum,either..

Just reason, from what i see lets say HC had 500,000 (or a smaller amount then what it is now)  commercials when sfdinza started working on it, He had to delay it for unknown reasons adn by then it got aroudn to 5 million. so he had to work on a bigger program, Now the bigger program has taken much more work and is worth more money. He still had to delay it for some unknown reason but he thinks the fraction of the work done would have been what the work should have been when it was still less commercials.

I may be wrong, But thats how i see it. Perhpas im wrong and its just sfdinzas misjudgement on the contract and he thought it would be a much smaller program and now the cash:Work ratio is imbalanced because of other more tempting offers?
