Community Help needed ! On a big project....
Let me introduce myself.. My name is Idan Hollander I’m 25 years old from Israel And I’m a huge homm fan ofcourse..
I’ve currently been working on my own rmg (Random map generator) for homm5 for few months now.
The current status of the rmg is about I think 30-40% finished
with an almost complete template editor the zones generation mechanism is almost complete too (Most thing are based on how homm3 rmg used to work ).
Here is a link to latest project version so you can understand the idea :
http://www.savefile.com/files/1324580
The thing is making something like this takes ALOTTT of time so I was always wanting to join forces with some other homm community member to reduce the development time..
I basically need help in 3 areas..
1) Which might be easier to get help on here is design of the rmg -
* The factions icons..
* Gui design
And anything else which can make the program prettier amd the gui more user friendly..
For example as you can see in the program the faction icons are a little blurry - That because i resized them to fit that small size (they were big pictures at first) so i need someone who knows how to do that without it looking blurry - or has icons at that size already.
2)And most importanly i need .net programmers..
The application is a .net 2.0 Windows application .
Anyone with the knowledge in that and knowledge in xml spacificly can help me , It even helps further if u understand how the rmg works and what are rmg templates..
So basically if anyone wants to be my partner in the development it would help making the much rmg faster ..
For example so you understand what needs to be done my current need is a “Guards” / “Creatures” Class which among other things will return an XmlNode/XmlElement which will contain the xml inside the map of a guard/creature (including mixed creatures) I will give you more specific details on this if any will become my partner..
3) All Modders help... Basically in the rmg i can pretty much include any mod ofsort in the map so any ideas will be wellcomed and/or mods..
Including new units , New buildings - But keep in mind i don't wanna touch any balance issues so for a new idea to make it to the rmg will need alot of thinking.. I assume i won't add many new stuff at least at start ...
(ofcourse the program itself will be fully custimizeable so after its finished technically anyone could add his own mods in there for his personal enjoyment..)
P.S i'm doing this for free so ofcourse its not a paid job if you happend to think that.

This is a very respectable and ambitious project, although I'm not the right person for this kind of work. Maybe you should give some more info about the purposes of your project. What makes your rmg better or different in comparison with the ingame rmg?

Have you used the ingame rmg ?
Basically it will (hopefully) be better in every aspect..
*More varient from map to map in same template
*Built in template editor and higher control to the users in their templates..
*Using templates will be a heck of alot more usefriendly then it is now..
*Like i said , User content is intented to be involved.. meaning maps with richer content
*Will use mixed creatures ( Isn't that enough to be better )
*And on and on , Any idea is possible if its good..
- Really no contest as i see it
