[MOD TotE] Complete improvement of the textures of the terrain
HI!! Inspired in what said Fiur of sharpen the textures of monsters, i create this MOD that enhances by 20% the quality of almost all the terrain textures. I play in 1280x1024 full options and high textures and i think the game looks better with my MOD(What am i going to say? )
Hope you like it!!

I think you misunderstand what Fiur means by sharpening. Your terrain doesn't look too much better than the old one. In fact, there are plenty of graphical issues (if you look at the screens you will see RBG Particles).

Fiur sharpened the textures to the level from the highest setting, you sharpened them further. If you want to create a mod for the audience you should better sharpen the textures slightly so the quality increases on lower settings. But for yourself you are supposed not to have any benefits of a sharpening mod unless you always play with a very short camera distance. If your computer is able to play the game on maximum settings you already enjoy the best graphics quality.

Thats ok magnomagnus! i don,t try this mod in leeser quality settings yet but i begin in this world of the mods thanks a friend who i always play that have a PC lesser than mine. I always make the mods as experiments So if people with low machines gonna enjoy it better for them! thatīs what i expected!
SO you think that i have to sharpen it more to get better results in low machines?

No, I mean the opposite, you have to make them less sharp, like fiur did. The way he did it you see almost no difference when playing the game on the highest settings. If you make the textures too sharp the quality will decrease when zooming out. I will quote myself here, because I explained this in another thread:
Quote: The graphics engine uses a dynamic way of sharpening, this means when you see creatures in the hire creatures screen (where you see them from very close) they are sharpened to the max and look exactly the same (no matter the mod is installed or not). When you see creatures from a further distance they are sharpened less because that actually increases the visual quality. Otherwise you get the effect I mentioned in my earlier post (glitches, black&white lines). On CH a saw somebody already complaining about this when playing on 1024x768
The mod breaks up the system of dynamic sharpening and makes all creatures maximally sharpened in all situations. This can have a positive effect for people playing the game on low settings, because they probably never saw the creatures with such an high quality in the hire screen and when zooming in on the combat map. And so I didn't say it is a bad mod.
But you must realise that even if you sharpen all textures in the game you can never achieve the same graphics quality from high settings on low settings. Because you will again meet the quality-decrease when zooming and the settings also affect other visual effects like particles. People with high perfromance pc's can increase the quality even more with Anisotropic Filtering.
So that's why I say don't make mods using these textures because these mods will conflict with the way the engine is supposed to treat textures.
