The Elven Reunion (a mixed campaign story by Golemcrafter)
I'd like to introduce my frehest but still incomplete story about the Reunion of the Elves. Since I think, that after HOMM VI we won't have more HOMM game for a longer time, it would be nice to show how dark elves return to their orgins. The story is divided in five missions (like in the HOMM campaign mode) and from the conversations, you'll be able to follow the happenings. First, I will list up the main characters and then the start of the story:
The Reunion of the Elves ("drama in five scenes )
Characters:
Vayshan (father of Khiber, govenor of Balzar)
Dirael (mother of Inge)
Khiber (son of Vayshan, lover of Igne)
Inge (daughter of Dirael, lover of Khiber)
Oleg (friend of Khiber)
The Story:
(starting scene: The Plan)
Vayshan: Elves! Born to bring peace and harmony over Ashan and to rule over the green forests and the animals, who protect them for that. How arrogant they became, though they show their beautiful side. They are hiding their real faces and wills. I remeber thoose days very well, when we were one and we lived in peace since the earth was born. But then the Faceless came and offered us a better life in the catacombs. From that day, we refuse the elves and we won’t let them gain more and more ground on Ashan. Since I know that terrible new, we must do redical steps to stop them! Khiber!
Khiber: Yes, Father! I hear your word!
Vayshan: The dark prophecy seem to come true. I’ve heard a few days ago, that Malassa has pointed out Irollan’s choosen-one, who will once destroy our people and erases our history from everyone’s minds. We got some informations about the choosen one and I think, it won’t be easy for you, my son, to kill...her!
Khiber: What? Malassa’s choosen-one is a woman?
Vayshan: Not exactly, my son. She is not yet a woman just a young but strong girl. Her name is Inge, the daughter of Dirael. Don’t let yourelf deceive about her age, she can be a deadly opponent for us! Malassa is never wrong...
Khiber: I shall perform, what the Dragon of Darkness and you, father, wish. When shall I go?
Vayshan: This night already, my son! The town, where Inge is, is Shataqua the main town. You have to be quick and don’t leave any proofs! But why an I worried about you, since I was the one, who teached you the misteries of a good assassination...Now go, my son, and prepare yourself for the jurney! Do not diappoint me!
Khiber: Yes, Father!
Vayshan: A brave but sometimes rash boy! He has still to learn many things. But I am quite certain, that tomorrow, we won’t have any more problems with our future...*laugh*...
Mission 1: The Way to Shataqua
(game scene: Monolog)
Khiber: Due to my father’s words, Shataqua shouldn’t be far from here. I’ll have to finish my job or else, my home will be ruined. But I still don’t understand, why Malassa’a choosen-one is a girl. Ahh, leave the thoughts, Khiber and concentrate to your mission. You cannot fail!
(Mission Objectives: Find a way to Shataqua; Khiber must survive)
(end scene: The Meeting)
Khiber: (from behind a tree) Are my eyes playing with me? Who can be that beautiful fairy down there?
(a wolf rushes from a bush and attacks the fairy)
Khiber: LOOK BEHIND YOU...!!!
(the wolf jumps against the fairy and wounds her, she faints faints, Khiber shots the wolf with his crossbow and then runs towards Inge)
Khiber: Are you all right?
: Hmm...? Ahhh....! My leg hurts...!
Khiber: It’s bleeding! Hold on, I’ll help you! Who are you and where are you from...?
Pixie: Awww...! I can’t stand the pain! My leg hurts too much! Please...please take me back to Shataqua...to my mother...!
Khiber: All right then, hang on my neck and calm down! Let’s hope we can reach Shataqua...where I can finish my buisness!
Mission 2: The Search in the Silver Forest
Dirael: By Nature’s Great Mother, what has happened to my daughter?! Inge...are you all right...?
Khiber: Are you the mother of this fairy? She was attacked by a wild wolf near the Crystal Lake. She is badly wounded and her wound is deep...
Dirael: How many time did I say her not to go alone to the Crystal Lake! She was attacked by a Grey Fenris, whos bite can end my daughters life...
Khiber: How can I help you? Is there anything I can do?
Dirael: I don’t have any more herbes, that could heal my daughter! The only cure for her would be the Tear of Silver Unicorn, who live in the Silver Forest. But tears from one Unicorn won’t be enough because of the serious wound. I need tears from three Unicorns! Please, help us, if did that once already! Bring me the tears, don’t let her die...!
Khiber: Of course, lady! I won’t return without the cure, I promise! Your daughter will live!
(Mission Objectives: Find the three Unicorns, Obtain the right amount from the Tear of Silver Unicorn, Khiber must survive)
(interrruption scene: Discovering the Golden Forest)
Khiber: I must not forget my real objective! Perhaps I can find something worthy in this forest...or at least a good escape way after I killed the choosen-one...)
(Secondary Objective: Discover the whole Silver Forest)
(end scene: The Terrible Truth)
Khiber: How is she? Does she feels better now?
Dirael: Yes. Thank to your efforts and to the strengh of the Silver Unicorns tears, the danger hass passed. She is awake! She wants to meet with you...the one who has save her life. And I’ll be thnakful to you for ever. Now go and speak to her!
(in the hut)
Pixie: Are you the one who saved me from the Grey Fenris and brought the Tears of the Silver Unicorn?
Khiber: There is no need to thank my help! It was just pure luck that I was there at that moment. I’m glad that you are alive! Now if you excuse me, I’ll have to go now...
Pixie: Wait! Don’t go now! I don’t even know your name...! What is an elf doing at the Crystal Lake?
Khiber: Please, forgive my impoliteness, young lady! My name is Khiber. I am a...wanderer...from Hoblein.
Inge: I have never heard about that town. Let me intoduce myself: I am Inge, the daughter of the Swarm Queen, Dirael.
Khiber: (jumps up from the bed) You...are...but...how? And...that means...you...!
Inge: What’s wrong with you Khiber? You look shocked!
Khiber: I’m sorry, Lady Inge, but I’ll have to go now! I’ll have to return to...Hoblein...to meet someone there...! I wish you become healthy again! May the nature show your way in your life...!
Inge: (gets up from the bed) Please, stay here for a moment! You didn’t wanted to have any reward for your efforts...for your favour. You should know, that someone, who helps an elf may recive great things. Gold, silver even crystals and other treasures! But since I don’t have any from thease, I’d like to thank your kindness by my simple way...!
(she kisses Khiber)
(Khiber stays still there a bit puzzled, then he runs out of the hut and vanishes in the forest)
Inge: (looks after Khiber) May Sylanna lead your way in your life...my love!
Mission 3: The Chase
(starting scene: Watched Like A Hawk)
Khiber: This can’t be true! The prophecy must be wrong and Malassa must be wrong, too! This girn could not be our doom, she is too naive, a true servant of nature, of peace and of harmony. No, I cannot kill neither her mother nor Inge itself! This feeling...around my heart...it’s painful! I have never felt such a thing in my life and my father has never told me about such powers on earth. For once, I refuse my father’s and Malassa’s will! I cannot harm Inge...my...love...!
Scout: Well, well, well, somebody I crying for a dirty fairy! How could you sink so deep, that you spare the life of the one, who will cause pain for our people?
Khiber: What are you doing here? What do you want from me?
Scout: From you? *laughs* We don’t want anything from you! We came to take over your job. It is now our mission to eliminate the young Inge! We saw as you helped her, as you saved her from the wolf and as you searched for the cure, which I suppose healed her already!
Khiber: If you’ll touch her just with one of your finger I’ll...
Scout: You’ll call your father? Vayshan was himself who ordered us to follow you! He knew that you are too young to do such big tasks but he believed that you can succeed! See, even your father don’t have any trust towards you anymore! Now if you excuse us, we have to continue our progress.
Khiber: He...he...he...! I think you don’t realize who is just standing in front of you! I am Khiber, the son of Vayshan! He teached me how to slash down such scums like you...!
Scout: I hoped, that things would go that way! Although your father didn’t mentioned to kill you...we will do that...for free! Vayshan won’t miss you, young Khiber! Prepare to die!
(they attack each other, Khiber kills the scouts)
Khiber: I didn’t wanted to kill you but you strained me to do so. Now tell me: what is my father’s plan now?
Scout: (dying) *cough*...your father was careful and...recruited more scouts...*cough*...even assassins to kill your cute little...girlfriend...*cough*. They are here in the forest and I...suggest to hurry up...if you don1t want to see...*cough*...your girfriend...dead... My life will end now...but Malassa will reward me for everything...ahhh... (dies)
Khiber: But I am still alive and I will protect Inge at all costs! I feel sorry for my...”betrayal”...but I’ll have to think about my own future. And about others future. I have completly misunderstood the elves! The least I can do is saving them from the assains, my father has sent here!
(Mission Objectives: Find and kill all the scouts and assassins on the map, Capture and destroy every Scout and Assassin dwelling on the map, Khiber must survive)
(end scene: The Evil Suprise)
Khiber: Now, that the scouts are dead, let’s hope that none can harm Inge...and me anymore!
(Vayshan comes with his troops.)
Vayshan: Don’t be so certain about that! Of couse you’ll stay alive, but sadly, you have to be punished for your deeds. You aren’t my son anymore! Malassa will give you the right punish! But you were wrong in one thing...
(He shows the caught Inge)
Khiber: Inge! What have you done with her?
Vayshan: It’s your fault that she was caught! You didn’t noticed one of my hired scout... He said that noone has observe, that she has been captured. But don’t worry, Khiber, I won’t kill her for now. I will take her to Balzar and then put her in prison. I have to talk with Malassa for further steps.
Inge: Help me, Khiber!
Vayshan: As I already said, you have to came with me...home. Don’t resist at least now!
(Minotaurs want to hold Khiber. Khiber kills the Minotaurs)
Khiber: Inge, I’ll save you I promise...! (vanishes in the forest)
Vayshan: Let him go! He is now complatly affacted with the most ancient magic and because of that, I am sure that he’ll try to rescues his...fairy. Let’s head back to Balzar and wait for his...homecoming...*laughs*
Mission 4: The Releasement
(starting scene: Khiber’s Plan)
Khiber: Enough! I have sat here enough hiding myself in despair. I have to free Inge from the prison of Balzar before it’s too late. The only problem, that my father will maybe wait for me and then everything is lost for me. But I have to take the risks! If I don’t act, nobody won’t either... and Inge will die...!
(Mission Objectives: Free Inge from the prison, Khiber must survive)
(interruption scene: An Unexpected Ally)
Oleg: Greeting, young Khiber! I suppose you are heading to Balzar to save Inge from her fate...
Khiber: You are right as always, Oleg! And noone can stop me from doing that! And if you are against me, no matter how a good friend you were, I’ll have to set you aside from my way...
Oleg: Then it wouldn’t be necessary to use your weapons, because I am here to help you!
Khiber: Help me? But why?
Oleg: Does this matter now? Maybe I explain that to you some other time... But now, we have more important things to do! Inge is now in Balzar and she’ll be shortly sacraficed if we don’t reach her in time. But I can tell you one thing now: you won’t be able to defeat your father’s troops...
Khiber: Then how should I help Inge to escape?
Oleg: Don’t worry, my plan is ready! As we reach Balzar, you head to Inge immediately, while I try to take Vayshan’s attention off. After you have freed Inge, we’ll meet in the border of the Silver Forest.
Khiber: This plan is too dangerous for you! I cannot...
Oleg: Of course you can! Don’t worry about me! Save Inge, that shoud be your main mission now!
Khiber: I believe you! Let’s head to Balzar then!
(New Objectives: Arrange a medium army for Oleg, Reach with Oleg the eastern garrison, Oleg must survive)
(end scene: Inge and Khiber)
Khiber: Inge, are you all right? Aren’t you hurt?
Inge: Of course I am hurt...hurt in my heart! You lied m, Khiber all the time! You said you are a simple wanderer but the truth is...that you are Khiber, the son of the evil Vayshan, the assassin, who was sent to kill me! I know now everything! And I don’t trust you anymore...leave me alone...! *cries*
Khiber: Wait...Inge...listen! What you’ve said is unfortunately true, about my real life and identity. I was teached since I was born to assassinate anyone I am ordered to. I was teached to hate elves...till I met with you. You have changed my soul and now I see at you else. Your town showed me, that you cannot be harmful, the prophecy can’t metion you...simply can’t. And if you are really Malassa’s choosen-one, I’ll protect you from anything that can harm you...
Inge: Why should I trust you now?
Khiber: Because...I feel something in my heart I felt since I first saw you on that day. And this feeling is love. Darkness has gone from me...for ever. You were the one who brought light in my body...
Inge: I...I see in your eyes, that you speak now the truth! I feel the same like you...and I hope that I will feel it for a long time! Thank you for saving me!
Khiber: Quickly, we must meet with my friend in the Silver Forest! Don't be afraid, he's my best friend and I trust him! Stay close to me, my love! Our way will be dangerous...!

Hehe, that's such of a cute storyline. I really enjoyed reading it. There are some parts that gave me a big smile when I read them.

This part is just too kitschy. Makes things too obvious.

"Yes, father" would be enough for someone who's sent to risk his life. Hehe.
You can add at the beginning something like "Do not disappoint me!" Then, you will be able to base the son's guilt feelings on that.
And just review it to check for English mistakes. 
Overall, it's really a good idea. Very sweet.

LOL, before I joined, my English had been pretty horrible. HC helped it a lot.  When I say "horrible" I mean to truly terrible. You can see it in my first posts.
Anyway, let's get back to the topic.
I didn't understand one thing: does the campaign tells the story of how the Elves and the Dark Elves united, or what they do as a one united race? If it's only the first option, it might be great to add the second one. To show how this kind of change can affect HOMM world.

The main story tells us how they unite and not what they do together. Perhaps it can be shown how they work together as one race, but I only have creativity for explaining the way till the reunion. I alrady got "problems" for how to continue the story...but of couse I'll do that...
