There was some sort of insanely bizare string of events.
The dog picked up a chew toy, and while doing so, bumped into a door, which swung open very quickly because the hinges had just been greased. The door, swinging at a high speed, bashed into a cabinet beside it, making wobble and shaking loose a bowling ball that was on top. The bowling balled rolled to the side, falling onto a smaller cabinet beside. The impact from the ball cause the smaller cabinet to topple forward and fall onto the table, where a fork had been left. The force of the cabinet hitting the table caused the fork to rise into the air and land in the man's throat. The man was sleeping an a couch near the table, and in his sleep, he had his mouth open. The fork, landing in his throat instantly lodged itself side ways, so the man was unable to get it out. The man fell to the ground and his dog sat beside him until his wife got home, but since his wife was away for a while, the dog got hungry and started eating the man, making it seem like he was the one who killed the man.

So a sharp obeject was involved.
Then it's obvious: the man was killed because he was starving to death and he ate the doggy's food.

Was the dog hungry?
Did the dog was so happy to see the man that he jumped on him, and in that moment the man was holding a sword or something close to a sword and the dog pushed him and the sword fell on his head, throat etc?

the dog bit the man between his legs cause he thougt it was a toy in there and the man died as his "things" got ripped off.
