June 2008 Hamachi
ello guys,
I was hoping I could pursuade some of you to join the hamachi scene and play some games of heroes 3 with me. I wanted to ask a premium user to create me a network/room, and we can all join it who are interested in playing against human oponents.
I have tried using gamespy but my internal and external ip's aren't matched so Its useless for me.
Please let me know if someone can help!

Whos cares about playing in Gamespy, its just there too meet players to play over Hamachi

yeah, Gamespy is good for chat. You even don't need Hamachi if you have external IP address.

last time i went on gamespy some nub tried to send me a trojanned hamachi via msn
I don't think i'll just trust anyone on there anymore..

Why u try to get hamachi send by MSN? Just go here: hamachi.cc and download it from the direct source

thanks but I have downloaded the latest hamachi and its running fine. I just ment I don't know if the guys on gamespy(ware) arcade are decent folk or just out to try and catch someone out and mess up his pc. I don't know much about hamachi yet so I an not sure about possible vulnerabilities.
I know various heroes 3 fans who played and are interested to do so online, but they aren't available most of the time. Which is why I proposed if we could utilise a frienly hamachi network, just for those who are interested in playing on the fly

use valid Antivirus software, never play from work, don't store important data on home PC, make copies of important data on CD/DVD...so u will be safe there is no 100% safe place in internet, neither Gamespy nor Hamachi

Sorry for sounding like a total newb.. Old time heroes player but never tried it online. how does it work to play against other players and does it cost anything? i have heroes 3 complete and also 5.. tho i play 3 more often these days

Playing online H3 is for free. All u need is described in this thread.
