You can remove the question mark at my name. And add Hexer, Sir Gauvain and Chan from Drachenwald.

Great to see you Tim...

I remember playing MANY games with you and every single one was enjoyable...win or lose.

I look forward to letting you mop the floor with me (at least until I get the hang of this silly little HOMM V game )

Please add me to your msn live thingy so we can get together sometime and play:  joetheloser@hotmail.com  (I'm 95% certain that is correct since I haven't actually used it much yet).

Hi all, I like idea of TOH cup, but I like tourneys with some “drive”, well-organized and many maps used by one player.
Also don’t like whines and watching threads like “tell me who is fair” and so on.

I want to say: count me in, but what I m personally not likes:

- Maps are selected from Ceasar map list randomly by me to each game
- Random faction, random hero

Why? Many fractions on many maps toooooo unbalanced. Seriously: I don’t want to play inferno on most maps - no fun.

That’s my few additional suggestions for discussion:

1. 7 or better 9 well-known maps list to choose from to play cup games,
2. Map agreed by opponents from CUP maps list, but only map which was not being used by them in previous rounds. If players have a problems with agreements – then just use striking out maps system.
3. Using striking races (3+2+choose color) system, if someone doesn’t know what is it, I l explain more.  Players can use all RDM option for races, but only if both opponents agreed and really like it.
4. All tourney maps (if haven’t ) edited with shackles to avoid any H/R discussion.
5. BEFORE  every cup game opponents make agreement for another rules or no rules and write post in this thread with that  “rules agreement” and used map, both 1st and 2nd player,  think its not so hard and time-consuming job.
6. As a option, will be nice to see interesting final fights videos

If most of players agreed with rules for CUP, priZe will riZe to 250$ for winner (if its ok to Ves to resend my prize

Thx for reading, sorry for bad English VEX.

First of all thanks for the sponsorship, but in general I think we should play for fun an honor.

Second as I wrote in the rules:

PLAYERS SHOULD DECIDED ALL RISING ISSUES TOGETHER BY MUTUAL AGREEMENT.

The rules what I wrote down in opening post for disagreement, except one rule:

Within two week, game must be over.

We will make random selection for the maps for the grid before we will know the positions of each player in the grid, but will not show that to the players.

Therefore I dont think its a good idea to open neverending discussions over the rules, lets try to keep it simple.

Actually, he played under the handle "janmar", but changed his name to vanjanmar now. And though I'm a really weak player, there are some good ones in Drachenwald. I think janmar is not the best of them, although he isn't that weak, you remember correctly.

I would like to ask the possible players who interested in toh cup and not mentioned in these posts to let us know if they wanna participate untill this Thursday (28th of August) 19.00 (GMT + 1).

We will make the selection of random maps and players on Thursday 21.00 (GMT + 1).

All players are welcome to meet in toh chatroom for making the grid. It will require player's vote to decide maps and positions in the grid.
We will not show the selected random map to the players, but we will send it to Ves.

Players position will be revealed after selection.

First round starts in 1st of September. Each round lasts two weeks.

We kindly ask the players to try the negotiate each game between themself. If no agreement reached untill 4th day of each round, Elvin and me will give the map to play to the players, and we will set the rules.(No democracy)

We will set random map, random faction, artifact bonus, sim turn, quick combat with option of replay, hard, no time limit, no mirror, no wyngaal

Any other issue rise we will decide.

I will play... but good luck deciding who will forfiet if game not done in 2 weeks based on TimeZone issues...  I have available 60 hours a week to play... If my opponent cannot show up enough to finish in that time.. I shouldnt be forfieted if game not done in 2 weeks... Think there will be some problems in this area.. if you try and force a 2 week deadline.

Anyways... sign me up!

It has nothing to do with honour. My warning is based on HeroesLeague experience organizing such tournaments. Among large number of participants there will ALWAYS be someone who cannot fulfill his/her obligations due to various objective circumstances. Technically, if that person is able to resume gaming on last day or two but they just cannot manage to finish then what do organizers do?

Anyway, no rules and "chivalry" are positive trademarks for TOH but worldwide practice suggests that quality of any larger event is mainly dependant on organizational effors and framework.

We will try to get over the problem each by each. General answer is forfeit I would say.

Smart. I think Elvin/Kisp just be the judges, and then we just accept without any drama. If joining the cup we accept that. You can create some rules to yourself like lowest/highest ranked player wins if no finish etc. if needed.

The more democracy the more drama
