I will add another thing to Crusades feature:
When first I say about crusader units I mentioned only the :
Haven: Priest\Inquisitor  Cavalier\Paladin  Angel\Archagel
Inferno:Succubus\Succubus Mistress  Pit Fiend\Pit Lord  Devil\Archdevil
Necro:Vampire\Vampire Lord   Wight\Wraight   Death Knight\Dread Knight

Well,these are not the only creatures who can go to Crusades.All creatures in your faction can go to Crusades
You must have these 3 (who I mentioned above)creatures to start Crusades
Remember,the units who will go to Crusades will be choosed by you.You should calculate the strenght of the enemy army who taked control of your town,then select the number of creatures you wish to go to Crusade and the start it.

I love the concept of Necros not needing a boat!  We should totally have necros as able to walk under water (at ?half? movement) if all their creatures are undead/Mechanical/etc.  This could lead to UNDERWATER BATTLES!!!!

Well they are not the only ones it would make sense for.  Wizards and Warlocks also.  Levitation, Underwater Breathing Spells, or other magic could possibly mean underwater travel, battles, etc.

Another idea come in my mind.I hope it will be good


Charge of the Knights


I want to make here the game more realistic.The improvement is for Cavalier\Paladin\Champion fighting.This idea is about unmounting them from horses...Let's start
Only a note:When I write "knight" I'm reffering at the Cavalier\Paladin\Champion

When is attacked by another knight

When your (for example Champion) is attacked by a Paladin,the Paladin will have 40% chance to unmount the Champion
But this works only when the number of the enemy knights is more than your knights.But not only the enemy can dismount your knights,you can do the same thing
And I repeat,is a 40% chance to dismount

When knights are attacked by small creatures

When you attack a knight with a small creature (War Dancer,Imp,Peasant,Blood Fury,Assasin ...) there is a 20% chance to dismount the knight from the horse

When knights are attack by a big creature

When you attack a knight with a big creature (Angel,Devil,Cyclops,Black Dragon ...) the knight will die regularry like in HoMM 5


Ok,I say the knights are dismounted,but if in Heroes 6 the dismounted knights will look with their armour,with the lance they have,I would have some suggestions in what creatures they will transform after the dismount:

Cavalier - Footman

Paladin - Squire

Champion - Vindicator


Ok,this are the names of the knights from HoMM 5
and another thing,I only post the creatures who will transform the knights after they are dismounted,but I say above "if they will look with their armour and their lance after the dismount" because for example the Squire doesn't have Paladin's Armour,Clothes and the lance...

Ok,I want to be some comments about this idea...and if you don't like it or you consider somethig wrong please say "something can be better there,probably the ...." and you can comment there,I'm not sad if you have probably better suggestions for each feature who I writed here,on this concept

Will this dismount be limited to battlefield combat or a permanent arrangement where units are "down graded" from there previous class?

Putting it simply, A unit that is dismounted will stay dismounted or will they regain there mount after combat has completed?

Well,I think the dismount to be only in one battle,the next battle the Knight starts mounted

    New horses for the dismounted knights


If your knights were dismounted in battle,they can remain only infantry?!
No,the concept is for another use of Caravans.If your knight are dismounted you can buy horses for them
Why? With another bulding
   HORSES' STABLE (I want to use the stable for this,and that stable who increased movement to transform into another buildng with another name
Horses's Stable will be used to purchase horses for the dismounted knights
You can easily come with your hero at the town (where the stable is built) and simply purchase horses for the dismounted knights
A HORSE - 200 Gold,8 Haven Food

And if your hero is too much far from the town,or he is in another town,you can simply use caravans. (this option I want to be in the Horses's Stable screen) The caravans will come to the specific location where your hero is withthe dismounted knights and they can feel again a powerful Tier 6 unit

Everything you said about the Naval system has already been suggested by Xerox. Still, it's good. The only thing that I would change is the limit in the size of the army. That would be quite annoying not being able to put your army inside a ship.
Food has been discussed as well.

Anyway, the most interesting thing is the crusading.
But remember, that crusaders, after all, had more journey than battles. So perhaps a hero goes from one the map's edges towards the castle, and will get there in 5 days. The hero will be a AL hero, which will be ignoring any resources or mines on his/her way. It won't have creatures that don't exist on one of the player's cities. Otherwise, it wouldn't be balanced. If I capture an enemy castle during creeping, and suddenly Archdevils come to attack me, I will have no chance.

I know this thread hasn't been active for a while, and so I am. Anyway, I'd like to add a new improvement for the gameplay.

I always wanted a differt mode of gaining experience and the way you raise the hero/creatures' attributes. For me, it has become so boring just to choose "5000 experience" or "+1 attack" and nothing more ... so that's why I came with this new system.

Basically it's just the same way you get the experience and attributes for your hero, but what's new in my concept is that you can improve a percentage of your attributes depending on how many battles you fight. (e.g: if your hero fights 10 battles and survives them of course, one of his attributes will be increased with a 5% percent, depinding on what type of hero he is)

There's a more detailed graphic below, of how many battles need a hero to fight and the percentage of improving his attributes:



Of course, the hero can't improve any attribute he want. There's a specific primary and secondary* attribute to each faction:


Faction:         Primary att:      Secondary att:

Haven            Defence           Attack
Inferno          Attack            Knowledge
Necropolis       Spellpower        Defence
Sanctuary        Defence           Knowledge
Stronghold       Attack            Defence


*The secondary attribute will be only a half increased compared to the primary one (e.g: If the Spellpower of a Necromancer will be increased by 5%, its secondary attribute, the Defence will be increased with just 2.5%)


It's a bit different for creatures. Now you can increase any attribute you want, but that will be a lot harder, because you can do this ONLY IF THAT STACK OF CREATURES SURVIVES THE NUMBER OF BATTLES NEEDED TO IMPROVE HIS ATTRIBUTES. Of course, that stack can still improve their attributes even if some of the creatures in it die. They can't do this anymore only when the whole stack is dead.

Hope you like it even if it's a bit complicated and my English isn't very good. If you don't understand something just ask and I'll try to explain. And sorry for the moderators because I revived this thread from 2008, but it was useless to open a new thread just for this improvement.

Wow, I remember that naval combat idea I had. Ugh, it was horrible. I really tried to make naval combat a main feature of my H6 (well it wasn't that bad, got a QP for it ;P)
