Leaving the town and face final battle on open field to prevent getting called "dishonorable" for town sitting, and then getting taken away the castle in next turn instead of having the final battle on open field is just....lol
This would be for sure my last game vs this guy...

But giving false informations during the game is nothing special. That's really part of the game. It's same in H3 when you have put away some good artefacts from your main to lower your stats shown in tavern...

All I know is, if my town is wide open and somebody takes it..I wouldn't have a problem with it.  I might kick myself for leaving it wide open, but I don't see any dishonor in it unless it was a rule that both agreed on.

I have yeilded when all is lost (making sure they know it counts as a win for them ) had some reloads (and given some), but I consider myself honorable.  Taking a town is an intelligent move, and unless it is expressly forbidden by the rules I and my opponit agree on, I am going to take the town every time.  Though I may offer enemy a chance to fight me outside their town first..(like I did with pheonixreborn)and won't fight from inside the enemy's former town.  Still unless it was an agreed apon rule..don't see the issue.

Just to say something, the player with whom i enjoy playing the most is Kispagat. Why? We play with no rules. I have 4 wins and 6 losses in my matchups with him. We did HNR, battle retreats, castle takings, mentoring, etc. , etc. and we still don't say about each other that's dishonorable. And for the record, from my 4 games won, there's not even 1 won with HNR.

How good guy I am playing that much with a noob. By the way, I dont remember doing hnr, but thats not mean that it had not happen.

About the topic:

I cant judge the issue about lying, altough I never pay serious attention to my opponents words according to the game, losses, etc

Taking town issue is strange for me. One of the most important part of this strategic game is to try to force your opponent to play the final battle in good circumstences for u, and bad circumstances for him.

Like if I am necro, and my opponent is sylvan, I would even pay to him to take my town and siege him.

Familiar ground, morale, luck, or siege could lead to different outcome with same heroes and armies.

So I dont see any honor issue here, you left your town open to the enemy, he took it. Taking town as much as leaving it open is a tactical weapon. If it was a mistake, you are to blame.

OMG! this is getting horrible?!
Is taking someone's town a CHEAT?! come on people! he didn't have to fight You, it's a part of the game! I can understand a rule "NO HIT'N'RUN" but this?! it's TOO MUCH!!
You should defend your town, stay in there as long as the opponent comes so close so You could attack him! What Yuo did was just Yuor silly mistake! and no need to make an argument about it!
OMG! grrrr

Look Vangelis, think it this way: In heroes everyone does what he can UNLESS you have talked things or know/trust your opponent. Everyone does and everyone will, as you said yourself it's a game. Speaking of which you are the one making a fuss for a game And after all why trust someone you don't even know? Suppose I wouldn't, who tells you another would not? At the very worst you explain him the situation and you reload, he may well have thought that you did not expect him to reach it and he took the chance he was given. If you DID tell him you are coming closer to finish the game faster and he took it then don't ever play him again, as simple as that. I wouldn't

It's not about being a machine.. I suppose you are not well versed in the way of heroes not having played the previous ones but think about it.

Barbarian hordes led by their butchery chieftain Whangellis ("come on, lets finish it quickly [your head will fit my spike well]") were swarming upon us when we decided to avoid head-to-head clash, outflank them and flee to his Helm's Deep.
Strucked () Barbarian leader Whangellis cursed out () and perished ()

Here's the ending screenshot:

The black cross on minimap indicates my position when sim turns broke and asked "did you break the middle?" i answered "no, i'm still far away from breaking the middle".
It took me 3 more days to clear that X area, return to the castle for reinforcements and only then move for the middle.

I admit I entered the undefended castle. Is this misconduct beyond forgivable, really? Truly!? Madly? Deeply?

Should I volunteer for Hall of Shame?

What's wrong with TOH in last 6 months spawning defaming threads on left and right?

Castle sitting, taking, etc. is always a viable option UNLESS forbidden by rules both players have set. The only uncounterable tactic is using MENTORED kamikazes that should be banned.

Lately, I understand Ves more and more. He has experienced it for some 8 years and learned the wisdom of "no rules, be dynamic and creative". After seeing all these arguments of ambiguous "honour" issues I'm inclining to think that some people use it as justification for lack of forthsight, flexibility and creativity.

Keep it simple: play maps with schackles, ban mentored kamikazes and ENJOY the game, SURPRISE your opponent

100% agreed

you know, you give your opponent a "hand" by trying to fight him HONORABLY in open battle, and he bites off the whole hand and takes that advantage you shouldn't even have given him

this IS dishonorable at it's best. What, you're afraid you can't fight him in open battle? That's what honor is all about, not by taking advantages that he SHOULD NOT even give you, but you see, he was too honorable -- nice way of taking advantage of his honor. It's dishonorable at it's fullest potential

From what i see you both are orcs, so if he get your town he will have advantage for extra 50 rage and you will loss it. Its logical from him to get your town befor final battle. Noting bad here.
I have few games when my oponent get my town. Some i trick him to get town, but tis will give me advantage for final battle.
No need argue for stufs like it.

Exactly. Unless there is a special rule that you both agreed before the game, you should be prepared for anything and never "trust" your opponent. Surprise your opponent. I mean, for example in Starcraft, you don't say: "Hey, you're dishonorable by rushing me, since I was expanding my base!"

He didn't say anything nor I felt he was giving a hand. He just came after me. I wasn't ready for final battle then and my intention was to level up on his trees and return for reinforcements, upgrades and war-cries.
I had 2 options: either retreat to my castle as planned or take a chance in final battle guarded by his walls. I chose the latter.
He could have easily attacked me in his own castle by the way with good chances. Castle would help me but wouldn't be a decisive factor because Vangelis was Expert in War machines.
Then again by taking his castle I sacrificed mine. He could just march forward and take mine instead of resigning (leveling up on my trees and middle as well).

Quite frankly I'm shocked that Vangelis standpoint has so many supporters. Anyway I am ready to replay the way Vangelis wanted and encounter the final battle instead of taking the empty castle which stands in front of me to end this drama. May I please visit Rally flag, mercenary camp and Fountain of fortune before I attack?

U did nothing wrong, taking castles is a part of the game, the person who has some weird problems is Vangelis here.
He's all about RULES.

Last time he proposed me a game with a rule: FINISH WITHOUT SAVING! come on! how can U play using that rule of course i refused everyone would do that

WEIRD!

i will say something last and i hope the thread will finish right here. 1. i am deeply sad that are people who think like sxshopper and some other who find the situation just fine.
2. i am happy that i see several players in here agreeing with me and acting still like humans.
3. i am happy that at least at some points iohann accepts some things.

from my side the subject ends here and i have taken my lesson. Never trust and play with NO RULES.

It's simple.
Just make a black list & never play them again, unless you are forced to.
Then you can do what SQ did & just quit on Strider because he could not take the heat

Point is that it's part of the game.
If you dont like it then COMPROMISE.
Talk about it, if you cant come to an agreement, then there are others who will play.
Play some regulars & leave out the unknowns.
Yall should know the regulars & how they play.

Yes Vangalis even i can understand your terrible english

Thats actually not a bad idea.
It just helps us see who cries.
Like honour points, you get Pussy points lol.
If you feel someone was crying about stupid crap like someone taking your land or taking your castle.

Taking someones capitol is strategy, only good players can defend thier land & prepare.

Vangelis I promote you to the Hall of Wussies for this thread you made ALone

Unlike you I would mention names & wouldnt care lol.
I think people deserves to know who deserves to be on the block.
