I think artifacts have nothing to do with th Aca won... For me the one who played orcs made lots of mistakes. The one who played Aca made no...
That is only my opinion, but for me it seems that if the orcs' player choose Maruders, Chieftans and Maulers the game would look quite different.
And if he didn't engage his shamans so fast but first haste his melees (Warms for example) with it...
Anyway- there was a moment when he TOOK BACK his 2 ONLY shamans in spite of hasting his dudes for two turns or slowing the enemies' one 
Btw. I know I would (maybe) make even worse mistakes if I played that game, but anyway- Aca which was a bit weaker in units, owned the game cuz of skill of its player. Not cuz of the arties...

Marauders hurt you doubly with frenzy/puppet, Chieftains are a whole different case since they are played with a different style(academy is better to finish off early than not stall the game and you could not depend on making centaurs act again since they will likely sustain bad losses before they even shoot) and maulers can die in 2 attacks, especially since academy hits first with initiative arties.
The shamans did not have the luxury of waiting, not when they had a target in sight and academy shooters keep pressing - also the +3 extra initiative from the rage level is a must. Casting slow would be silly, for one there is always a mass haste counter as well as magic mirror - slow could have hit the cyclopes instead.
Taking the shamans back was obviously meant to avoid the rakshasas hitting all three stacks, not much sense in casting a spell at the cost of receiving a triple attack. Besides they were too few for haste duration to have any kind of impact in the game.
Conclusion: You don't know how to play orcs

Anyway- shamans who were taken back so as not be killed with others- were killed in the next strike and the other stack was also attacked
Were Maruders puppeted/frienzied? Didn't seee that O.O
About Maulers- Telsek's bonus gives them great def boost and warms didn't act quite many times, did they?
About Executes- OK they did quite well but they also died very fast. Chieftans would haste all the crucial stacks and 1+ init bonus is also worthy...
What's more- Marauders are much more durable than Nomads are and their init is the same...
Conclusion: I think u want to offence me, for no reason or cuz u played orcs Am I right?
I said- that I could have made even stupider mistakes- why then u tell me that I can't play orcs at all if we are just theoretizing for now?
U know everything about the game?

I wasn't trying to protect my shamans, they were merely a shield for the warmongers.
Nomads are a precaution against dark.
Warmongers did not act much indeed but if not for dv they'd be almost untouchable.
And you are wrong it's only a personal observation. I have no reason to insult you nor was I talking about theorycrafting, that comes from personal experience. You can choose to agree with it or not.

No worries both cases have been cleared
Edit: Just had a game with lesij, orcs vs necro. That made me realize that a hut for shatter dark is essential, while the chances to get it from leveling are not bad if you get unlucky to miss it it's a hopeless battle. Sure I had shatter summoning and tent to cure low level curses but there was little to be done against the barrage of frenzy and puppets that ensued - with sorcery no less
Second game was academy vs sylvan, I got stormwind with cloak of death's shadow and ring of unrepentant so his speed was crappy. Plus he forgot to visit the well or buy ballista so it was a lost cause.
The last game was pretty funny Was inferno vs sylvan and I had a rather unconventional inferno 
For the record I had divine vengeance, resurrection, mass deflect missile, puppet, cotn, mass confusion. I have a feeling that the spellshop's spells are afafected by both players that appear except each has a tendency to get certain favoured spells. No comment really.
Ah and just remembered, I had played a funny game with radar in the last few days. His haven vs my orcs, he loves making exotic builds
With the addition of Fiur to the tournament we need one more person to get 12 contestants, who will have the honour?  One more join and the team is set!

And here it is, version 2.4! Added seer's hunt that gives shatter dark to orcs, just visit it twice.
Scoreboard added, each victory in the tournament gives 1pt. If someone passes to the next round because his opponent forfeited then he gets 2pts as if he had defeated him normally. I hope we won't have any more such cases.
Right now radar, Asheera and blizzardboy are in the lead with 8, 6 and 5 pts respectively. Please keep an eye in your scores, I may overlook something.

One question is Phoenix forbidden for Sylvan or is it simply an major hindrence for you to get it from the shop since you have to spend ressources and cash on the Gems necessary to get it?

You are not meant to get it, I thought it was pretty clear. Yes you can try summoning with rain of arrows wasp/hive, fire warriors or phantom forces if you are lucky but a sylvan phoenix can be too strong. Reason I still left some gems was summon hive.
