Thanks for the links and the reminders . I remember having that big spacerobot thing too by the way .

I've had this "idea" that I would hoard up a whole bunch of LEGO castles and then turn it into a strategy boardgame . Kind of hit a wall when I looked at my financial status and the number of people I know that might want to play it with me .

Both reminiscent of the number 0? lol

Sounds awesome to me!

Would be cool to see a pic of someone that had built an HV Cast Lego set too.

that thing is awesome :

I modified my ufo flying saucer into a spaceship with a huge mouth to devour small ships! I probably still have it.

I also made a kind of apache helicopter with the huge shark submarine.

and loads of castle and military bases!

oh lol, I also remember I built some characters from the game timesplitters.

I've just remembered the time traveller set. I got all the vehicles of the bad guys, the train was especially awesome

Wasn't too interested in those time traveling thingies. Though I admit there were some neat parts there...

I was making a sort of RP with Legos, based on GURPS (Generic Universal Role Playing System), but I have yet to gather a crew to actually play it. Besides, thinking up all the characters and making them can take some time...

I checked legos models on the internet, and there are a few that look really cool, such as dragon fortress, temple of atlantis, vampyre castle or scorpion pyramid...

maybe that thread should be in the tavern?

Looks like there's a fair few old sets there! I was pining for Lego so much the other week that I ended up making one of the more complex models in the Lego Digital Designer software...

Did anyone like Megabloks back in the day, you know, when they actually made good stuff? Their dragons and landscapes and weapons were infinitely cooler than their Lego counterparts, was a shame they pretty much stopped making them now.

I was more into lego. from what I remember there were some impressive models in megablocks, and some good pièces, but didn't you have more interesting elements in legos? also I don't think megablocks were compatible with legos, were they?

Legos were certainly much more varied with pretty much everything being better than Megabloks, with the exception of medieval things. The dragons were so cool and actually looked intimidating, I spent so much time playing with them. As for being compatible... I mean, the minifigures did just fine on either type of set, and you could kind of stick some of the pieces on each other, but it would look aesthetically weird.
