The whole thing was funded by the US military to avoid loss of information in case of nuke attack by the USSR. e.g: by having information scattered, a single nuke wouldn't wipe out all.
And so the internet was born.

I work 26 hours a day in the mill, I was paying for the boss. Then back home my dad butchered me with a broken glass and then sang and danced on my grave.

A joke? No. This QP was a very serious matter indeed.
What is kinda sad about the thread though, is that as I recall there were a bunch of clone threads unleashed in the VW, and a few were kinda funny - but no one thought to actually add to this thread and keep it going. Everyone wanted their own name in the title, I guess.

Monty Python did a very similar thing, although I'm not sure if it was before this radio comedy you're talking about. I love the Monty Python versions though.
