The Monarchy - OOC/ interest check

I think I have an idea of a collaborative RP.

This one is set in a neutral medieval setting. With neutral, I mean that any weapon or thematic style is viable for the characters(So you can walk about with a longbow or a cho ke nu for all I care, whatever you feel comfortable with). No gunpowder, though... Magic allowed.

Alright, that was practical character development. You live in the kingdom of Mirth, which is currently at war with the empire of Empiriana. You are all knights of the realm who serve in a knightly order (which you can all name and give a symbol if you want). Point is, I'll DM and give the knights assignments. The knights can have their own evil or good ulterior motives. If enough people join, I'll create a knightly Empirian order who will be leaning a bit more to evil, but both sides are actually grey (okay, Empiriana is the aggressor, but not entirely unreasonable).

This is an interest check to see, if someone still feels something for an RP. If people join, I'll draw up a map and check the character designs you submit (they can be whatever you like). I also think I'll add a ranking system to the knightly order...

Anyways, this is the OOC of 'The monarchy' - RP

The knights of the democracy? That's heroism for you...

I don't think necromancers are a good democratic party anyway

Alright, time to bring up character sheets:

Name:
Age:
Rank: (nobility, clergy or commoner)
alignment (optional):
actual class:
Desired weapon or combat style:
extra feats or skills (optional):
appearance (quick summary or pic is fine):
Background: (just state what they know about you in the court of his royal majest, that's all I need to work with)

Nobility: You're rich, rather skilled and have a pretty limitless armoury. Noblemen are also the sort of people that can afford to dable in magic (magician or scholarly classes are available)
Clergy: This person can have access to magic. They are also quite learned. They are more skilled in blunt weapons (that don't spill any blood, there's logic in it, you see?) or hand-to-hand combat (same reasoning).
Commoner: They only have acces in magic as a warlock or witch-type class. They are usually limited to a simple weapon and rather simple armour. They are less respected by the king (since they earned this rank, instead of being of noble blood). Good thing is that they tend to be more talented in what they do than most others.

Other than that, I don'think we need races in this, unles people think it's absolutely necessary, but I doubt that.

I am also open for suggestions on names of the knightly order and possibly a symbol of it...

Name: Ximi Grannock
Age: 26
Rank: Clergy
Alignment: Slightly Evil Neutral (Greedy, Fickle and Opportunist)
Actual Class: Fighting Bard
Desired Weapon or Combat Style: Rapier
Extra Feats or Skills: Limited Stealth Skills, High Charisma, Fair Healing Magic
Appearance: Middle length red hair, dark eyes and eye surroudings, quite tall and thin, carries a rapier, and a small puch in which a small flute, some basic healing instructions and rapier maintenance utilities, wears black boots, a black jacket and brown trousers, sometimes a small orange hat.
Background: Ximi wasn't born inside the kingdom, but in a cold and distant place in the north (somewhere in Esquire). At 15 years of age he wondered down to the borders of the Kingdom and finally entered the capitol. He made a living there as an assistant for an aged musician. Ximi inherited his flute and rapier after the musician's death. As an outlander he was blamed for the death and was forced to leave the city. He joined a small group of bandits but betrayed them after a short time. He rose to the rank of a clergyman and decided to return to the city.
Other Stuff: Hates it when people pronounce his name wrong

Name: Viridian Aelic
Age: 28
Rank: Nobility
alignment (optional): Neutral Evil
actual class: Fighter / Warlock hybrid.
Desired weapon or combat style: Talented with the halberd, unusually enough.  Prone to waving it about mindlessly in crowded areas.
extra feats or skills (optional): Don't really get it (is it based on a setting?) so I'll skip this one.
appearance (quick summary or pic is fine): Reasonably tall, though the halberd is a few inches taller.  Generally greenish and black clothing, something like Moebius, though much younger.

Cropped silver hair, jade eyes with "war paint" below to give the appearance of streaming green veins.  Wears an odd, small earring made out of stone.  Very grim.  Has a mild phobia of wood...

EDIT - Small background: Came to the court eleven years ago, in much the same situation as he is currently in.  Horribly disrespected by the townsfolk basically for generally treating them like slime, but valued by the court.  Stays only because of an inherent and downright rational fear of the forests in the surrounding countryside, and, by unfortunate coincidence, the wider world.

About the extra skills and feats, you can add a little extra, if you want, if it's too much like: 'strong enough to penetrate dragonscale with spoon' I'll cut it out. Basic idea behind it was to give the character a little bit extra, since most characters were likely to be fighter-based OR it can be used to clarify characteristics of your class.

ow, and I forgot to ask for a small background (what is known about you in the royal court).

HW, we have a problem, you can't be from two castes at the same time.

you are both a baron and a clergy member... That's not possible...

Either you're a baron (and thus nobility) or you're clergy and something different (like inquisitor or monk).

So, if you choose to be nobility, you choose either a title like baron or duke or earl or something like that. Or you choose to be family of such a person (there can be only one duke in all the land). A clergy member has a few options as title: inquisitor, missionary, crusader or paladin. If your favored weapon isn't blunt, then you can't become a paladin or missionary. Commoners are either people who have done something heroic in service to the king or a brave warrior who has been 'recommended' by a nobleman.

This is the symbol of the knightly order of Mirth, the order of the golden cross. You all serve in this knightly order under service of the king and the nation of Mirth, under oath this has been sworn.

I'll be up with the IC, soon enough...

Indeed, one master race and it's human. Efreet can exist, but they are only minions to a wizard or sorcerer. the other problem I have with your character was that it took place in Erathia and... It doesn't take place in Erathia.... Nor Ashan, nor wherever homm IV took place...

I'm sorry, HW, but I'm afraid you'll have to revise your entry (though, I think you removed it...).

I'll introduce two important characters to the story.

Name: King Harold of Mirth
Age: 68
Rank: Nobility, King
alignment: lawful good
actual class: Warrior
Desired weapon or combat style: The longsword and shield, though he's a bit too old for that now...
extra feats or skills: Rules over a nation, supreme control over most noblemen and soldiers.
appearance: grey beard, golden crown, beautiful robes and nice shoes, the true attire of a monarch.
Background: King harold was a very young king back in his day, since his father died so early. He has been known to be a just and firm ruler over his land. None doubt his position and none challenge him for it. He's also the leader of the knightly order of the Golden Cross and with it, he has the elite military in his hands, which has been proven to be quite effective to quell issues in his land.

Name: Septim of Mirth
age: 54
Rank: Nobility, duke
alignment: -
actual class: duelist
desired weapon or combat style: He rather fights with gold or the pen, but if pressed, he'd go for a sabre.
extra feats or skills: diplomatic skills, an ingenius mind, has about as much power as the crown prince.
background: Not much is known about Duke Septim. He's a very respected man, close relative to the king and has taken many commoners to the court and asked them to be knighted. He'll probably end up the next ruler of Mirth, as the crown prince has been missing as of late and he's the closest relative to the king.

Sox, this man is likely to recommend your person to the king.

With exams up for tommorrow, I'm afraid this'll be it for the night. I also think that alignments can be ignored, since some characters can be more complex than that. I hope I can find a rough draft of some characters (just a bit of background and a name would be nice), soon.
