Quote: 1) we don't know ALL the laws, and it's unlikely we will.
yeah, that's the point, all things can be explained with laws that build everything around us, we just don't know all of them.
Quote: 2) some are just approximations/predictions. A prediction is a TOOL, not a truth. Like Planck said, we have no right to assume that they will exist in the future (Planck was famous physicist, best known for his Planck's constant)
and 3) that's kinda... short-sighted. I mean, with that definition even people who don't believe in ghosts have a strong belief in 'supernatural' stuff (i.e non-mathematical things, that is out of 'control' since we can't predict them well).
Also, keep in mind that humans, while they may be mathematical, can't be predicted with math (or if they can, it's truly complicated for us to predict, might be overwhelming equations we don't even know with too many variables). The idea is, why should ghosts be different? Why should we expect to predict ghost behavior while we don't even do it for humans?
And of course, we say humans are natural...
I believe that if ghosts exist, they can be universally explained with the laws of the universe, regardless do we, humans, have the knowledge to do it.
If something can't be, they don't exist and that is what we call supernatural.
Quote: No they're not. They only see the fields around the atoms.
They are 'programmed' in a way to report those fields (which is displayed) -- doesn't mean you actually see the atoms themselves.
You can't "see" atoms with light because... they are the ones who 'generate' light (or absorb it, depending on the energy they receive).
Well, I suppose you know better, I've never been good at chemistry or physics.

myself, i am a person who only believes in something if he sees it. and , as i haven't seen any supernatural beings, i don't believe in them (yet).
though, i have experienced lots of deja vus (or whatever they are called).one time, i had experienced one at the british council.in that deja vu, there were two guys i have in my class talking to each other.when i dreamed that scene, i had never seen those guys before and i hadn't started going to the british council yet.
so i actually saw those guys in my dream before seeing them in reality...
i find it scary...but still fascinating

When I was in High School we had an English teacher. Never got the weather wrong. Her source? Her cat (no lie). It had various things it did according to what the weather would be the next day. Things that could be coincidence, but weird. Like going around in circle 5 times, then going to the top of the couch and 'screeching' 5 times, then going to bat the dogs nose 5 times..for when it would snow the next day.

If you like talk on supernatural you might find the analysis of the silent hill universe of interest. Yes it is a game but it is based on something, the theories are already there. Note that I do not necessarily believe the following but there may be something to them. Does it make any sense? Maybe yes maybe no but either way it is food for thought.
The basic idea is that this town is based in more than one worlds and one can shift from one to the other according to his psychological condition. Not all characters perceive it in the same way, it can be a peaceful town to some or a nightmarish place with monsters that are the embodiment of inner fears for others. This is interesting because it reflects the conflict between mind and reality.
My point is..
When you see something 'supernatural' how real is it exactly? Is it in your mind? Is it something else than what you perceive? Do you see it because your mind wanted to see it? Or perhaps your mind adapts to what you are trying to observe so that it fits your perception, after all we are limited.
Another interesting point is that there is no such thing as absolute reality so we can only speak about a subjective reality - the way a
person sees the surrounding world is the ultimate reality for that person. "The perception of surrounding reality depends on personal qualities, the system of values and personal desires."
The author takes it further.
"The subconscious world is is a set (conglomeration more precisely) of memories, feelings and thoughts of a person. Such a subconscious world possesses enormous energy. Any thought, any emotion possess a certain force, an energy - and the stronger the emotion, the bigger psychokinetic potential it possesses. [...] We can also see that negative emotions (for example pain, hatred and so on) often are the strongest, that is they dominate over "positive" feelings(love and suchlike) in human consciousness and therefore possess the greatest potential."
Theoretically it could be the force making people break their link with reality and descend into their own world. Also this psychokinetic energy is supposed to be able to influence the nearby environment after gaining momentum.
"Places, known as "famous suicide spots" or "high accident areas" are always to blame" - that means the more power the subconscious world accumulates, the more it shows in reality - so, once it accumulates a certain amount of power it begins to influence reality. [...] once accumulated enough power, this subconscious world can spread over all people - i.e. everyone will start seeing this subconscious world and it will become the ultimate reality."
Then there is the matter of who may be susceptible to the influence of psychic energies. Would make more sense for someone who is distanced from reality with possible factors:
a) Sleep
b) Intoxication
c) Impaired vision and other senses
d) As one suffers pain in real life, the mind.
That might explain the strange visions we get when dreaming, they may not all be a product of our minds. (You can reast easy dagoth )
Anyway there is more if anyone is interested, here is the place to look.

I often have dreams of events that later actually happen. For example. I was in Year 2 (this is going quite a while back now ) and I had dreamed of something where I was on a floor (the floor was green) and I was in a classroom and I was on the floor and I had gotten up and started walking around. A year later, when I was in year 3, the last day of Year 3 (or one of those days before holiday) this event happened and I knew that I had dreamed of this before. These days, I usually dream of something and it happens a few days later.
Has anyone had this happen to them before?

Yes. I dreamt my Uncle's death (and how), 3 car accidents (always at the time of the accident even though I was miles away), a full day of school (that I actually went through the next day), and when we were going to go see one of my brothers for the first time. (He had been adopted out before I was born). And others

Let's turn the topic into dreams:
I once dreamt about myself in a prison whence I then escaped. That's about that dream. But that's not all; years later I actually dreamt about myself locked up in that same prison again, and in that dream I actually were recalling how I escaped from that prison last time in the other dream which I experienced years back.
I find that very curious.

It is a bit. I do not remember if I have seen a dream directly connected with another but I have often had dreams revolving about a certain setting. Considering that I can also think or use my senses(touch, temperature) in a dream is what concerns me more. Also why I cannot fully control a dream even when I gain the understanding that I am in one and can seemingly fly, create or destroy things.

I didn't actually count them, but it feels a whole lot more (but I know how it long something can 'feel' though so it's why my estimate was 15 and not 1 minute, because it felt like a minute )
too bad I can't practically do anything "regarding" it (even though I know 15 seconds in advance what is going to be next), for some reason like I said I'm frozen and my body moves by itself so to speak -- and even though I know how it'll be, I can't stop that (for example, while I'm walking). too bad it's outta my control

supernatural stuff huh? I believe in it allright. never doubt your grandma's herb medicine. it works(while most people believe its bullcrap)
Bloodmoon(in my country know as the werewolf moon) is something... Well, very strange. around my gramps' place there are no wolves(except several foxes) but when the bloodmoon shows up,there's howling all night. and dogs shiver in their doghouses. they're even afraid to go out and eat.
Evil spirits and all that other stuff... Ever been at the Devil museum in Kaunas? No? well, at first 3 floors there are devil statuettes made by our folk craftsmen. go to the 4th floor. in that room there are demon statues(masks and some other stuff) from foreign countries and shamanistic cultures. in that room you always feel dizzy and bad. there's just bad aura in there. you only feel better when you go outside.
Magical springs and similiar.
In my country there are several springs that are believed to be manifestation sites of st. Mary. old ladies believe that they can cure diseases and so. Well if you believe in it,maybe it can cure you. to me it's just ordinary water.

I've heard Deja-vus are caused due to a little link in the brain malfunctioning for a short time or something, making the info reach the memory before the recognition. Not sure really.
Deja Vu
Have Near Death Experiences been discussed yet? or the fact many people seem to have a 6th sense of sorts?
Some sort of "Psychic Witness" documentary series aired a few times on TV here; it was about crime cases that were practicly stuck. Then a Psychic kind of person was called in who revealed what she saw, gave direction, and indeed the policemen would end up discovering a vital clue or a corpse.
I like to think this is the next stage of human evolution it seems interesting.

Since the holiday season isnt over till the 6th of January i'd like to introduce you to some rituals and superstitions of Christmas Eve that are believed and performed in my country.
It is said that at midnight animals start to talk in human language. But its dangerous to listen to them because you can hear your date of death.
At midnight the water in the wells turns into vine for a few seconds. It is said that when you drink it you'll gain untold wisdom.
During the dinner of Xmas Eve there must be some hay under the tablecloth. Everyone must take one straw. Whoever has the longest lives longest.
Ok, heres one for the ladies
If you want to get married or get a boyfriend(but you are luckless) then run around the sauna NAKED 3 times. The sauna must be a separate building from the house ofcourse. When you'll do this, during the next year you won't be single.

You have to have an open mind about these kind of things.
Not good to disregard the possibility. If you see something or hear something unusual,It can really terrify you.
If yall dont believe, come out here & I will sneak you into the black diamond mines & the Gates of Hell.
You will believe after that.
