I would like to announce the release of my newest Expansion map called:


Genesis-DarkRealm

Darkness has fallen over Genesis... odd changes have taken place.....the land has some how morphed into a dark and sinister land that is no longer recognizable!!
Who knows what now awaits anyone who dares to venture out into the DarkRealm.


The map has been completely morphed. The only thing that is the same from orginal Genesis.. is the basic template.. and even some of that has been altered slightly.. I think you will find that the experience will be as completely different as if it was a totally brand new map.  

Special notes:  Thanks again to Fiur for his special effects help.  And also thanks to Teacher & Asheera for there genious abilities in scripting.

( Gates dont open until week 5 day 3... and becareful the garrions are random.. so only attempt them if you are prepared. ----also note that the gate release time and size of garrisons may change over time after few games are played to see how they balance out. )

Some interesting ideas and resonable use of scripts. Only thing I really don't like it this odd blue fog.

ohh.. hehe... in the game you can bearly even know its there. Its just part of the night time setting. Thats why I didnt know what you was talking about.. cause even looking at picture I bearly can see the haze.. but in game dont even notice it..

I'm sure you tested in single player mode... ?
if so I'm also sure that script does'nt work....

In the script itself (kinda suboptimal, to be honest ) there is no reference to type of player.
Could you please explain why it is not supposed to work in a singleplayer why does fine online? So far I've heard only about opposite problems.

I'd rather guess that there's a hole somewhere.

The problem has to be in the single player mode... cause if the script was working correctly... there is no way the computer to could beat any of the garrisons and be at your castle week 3.   So its either the script doesnt work in single player mode.. or there is as you say.. " A hole somewhere"  but if there was a hole... the simultaneous turns would break in a multi game way way early.

The AI shouldn't be able to pass either, I tested (not on this map though), and it can't until the garrisons are enabled.

I just explored and tried the map briefly with cheats. It appears there's no hole at all, I disabled Fog of War and the cursor says that I can't reach the other player's castle. This means that
1) there's no hole
2) garrisons are disabled, so the script worked

The only explanation I could get for Warmonger's story is that the garrisons were enabled earlier than week 5... for some weird reason

EDIT: OR, there could be access through the sea to the other player... and since I had no boats the cursor couldn't know that I can reach the other side.

I haven't really explored your map in detail so I don't know if there is any sea-moving at all... if there is, a hole may be there...

I will recheck the sea.... but correct me if I am wrong... if there was a hole in the sea.. wouldnt the simlutaneos turns break the moment someone got on water etc..??

Most probably yes, but did you test it with Sim Turns to the sea and sim turns didn't break? Then 95% there's no hole...

Also, is Instant Travel disabled? The AI may have used it.

Instant Travel is disabled... and have played the map all the way thru with Fiur... and we went into week 8... before sim turn broke.. and was both on and off sea thru out game.. so my guess is no hole.

Wait a moment... the minimap says I should own some garrisons from the very beginning, but I can remember only one?

Still, even if neutral, they are guarded by hordes of elementals so AI couldn't break in week 3 anyway.
I don't know the map yet, so can't really find out how it goes.
Will load the game and see how it happened.

Soon as a player hits the first garrison that is guarded by the air elementals.. the garrison behind it... becomes OWNED by there opponent.   So you do infact own them... just doesnt show until its time to pass them.



To Everyone:

I fully expect for there to be minor bugs and balance issues during the early verisons of the map... which is the case with any new map..  so feel free to offer your opinions and suggestions after playing it.

* Fixed couple passability issues
* Reduced 2nd town guards from 50 Arcane Archers to 30
* Balanced the resource cash beside 2nd town now both sides have it.
* Reduced Logistics cost from 5k down to 3k.
* Added WarMachine Shops in Northerm Middle Passage.
* Removed creature weeks from generating. So no abuse of Tower.

Not enough feed back yet about garrisons and gate open times to adjust any of that in this update.

Nice Map !

A friend of mine reported that the one Way Teleporter (player 2) from the island with the two trees which should lead back to the shipyard has no exit. I didn't check this though.
