Wah! Than i suggest you the medusa blow(or something like that). After that you must quickly destroy all with hammer.

well maybe, but I highly doubt the medusa gaze is more economical than the cronos rage.
I thought about legions of souls with the hammer, but they have trouble killing soldiers of rhodes at the beginning of the game. I guess it's more to annoy your enemies.

Kratos takes medusas head and screams and petryfying all around.
@Fauch: Yes it is expensive, but its the quickest way. You can cast 3 of blows with your mana(im not shure but something like that).
Legion of souls is very weak. Better is that flame with hammer, when you jump and press L1.
And what about the Atlases Earthquake? The final level is very good, and not so expensive.

I have almost no experience with atlas quake. fortunately I'm used to poseidon's wrath which is the same thing.
I'm not very good with the hammer anyway, apart from that flame attack.

Than try the bombs with the spear, creating them everywhere is sometimes good. I think you should play bonus mode and get experience with the quake.

well I use the spear quite a lot. I like making the enemies explode.
actually I'm not sure which is the best weapon between the athena blades and the spear. the hammer is a bit slow, the sword is fun, but I miss often with ranged attacks 
btw, I haven't retried yet, instead I began the god (hard) mode.
and I played a bonus round, I have all the weapons and magic to the max, I just didn't use the quake.

A tip for shooting with the blade: first change to bow, aim, release bow, shoot with blade. Always hits

I'm becoming a bit more confortable in god mode (very hard) in gow. I can manage gorgons, and minotaurs are quite easy.

I'm kinda getting trashed in GoW 1 right after you get Artemis' blade and you have to fight a room full of Medusas. I get petrified and the shattered. Any suggestions?

weirdly I beat them easily. but I don't dare imagining how I would get my ass kicked in god mode. I think I just dodged a lot. if one of them try to petrify you, keep moving. otherwise, keep attacking, and dodge or block when they warn you they may attack. oh, and don't jump. if you get petrified while jumping, it's an instant death. (at least in gow 2, never got petrified in gow 1)
btw, I think the sword does more damage, but the blades are faster. the sword isn't that important, but it might be useful to know how to use it.

played again and reached the spectres (gow1)
they are easy to kill, but I get pwned when undead soldiers appear to help them
