I know this is a noobish question, but you can only replace a unit's def files ? Is there a way to creat a new type of unit from the given def files ?

Well, theoreticaly it is possible to add new units, but only person that found out how to do it was Master Slava (and he didn't made a guide about that), so actually only possible way to have your own unit is to replace it (although it probably will be very easy in VCMI).

Yes, Grayface deftool gives all infos about units sounds names. Make a custom .wav with same name and place in data.

Do you mean the Creature hint in the misc tab?
But there are some unit that use the same sound files. Like the Fire messenger, they has the same sound with stone golem. How can i change only the sound of that unit ?

You must use hex editor (for example xvi32). And change phrase in exe file, in adress where the def name is.

When I check, I didn't ave that kind of problem, but it sometimes happens, it's fault of imageshack not mine, although after some time everything should work right.
