HELP I can't edit a post
I made this post here: http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=31315, rather big I admit, but I've seen posts as big as that or even bigger.
Problem is: I can't edit it. I push the edit button, write something or edit existing content then I push the submit button to no effect. In Firefox I get just a white screen and nothing happens. On IE I get a "navigator can't receive this information" message.
Any ideas why that is happening? I'd very much like to be able to edit my post.

Check your name while you are editing and fiddle with cases. That usually works.

Try deleting your cookies, it MIGHT help. I can edit if needed, but if there is some limit or something I will not be able to exceed it.

Ok I'll try both and answer shortly. Thanks for the help.
Uhm no change. Would you be so kind as to just delete the "awaiting your confirmation" lines in the beginning of the post?
Is it possible to create a blank post for me right after my first one? I forgot to create a [reserved] post.

Well, I did the first but the other would be a bit trickier. The ONLY way I can do that is by deleting the other posts so you can create one yourself. (Which I can do if you wish ). On the other hand here is a possible solution (please discuss it with the people that will be playing and have already posted in the OoC). Create a NEW ooc, copy and paste but split the first post into two posts. I will lock the original OOC and delete it after a bit. Should also solve your 'can not edit' problem. Your decision.

Uhm thanks but leave it alone then. Sometimes I get lucky and I'm able to quickly edit it. Could you corret the spelling mistakes for me on the 10/08/09 UPDATE? I type too fast sometimes >.>
I found this explanation on the internet for the error (http://www.checkupdown.com/status/E406.html) but I don't know how to solve this:
HTTP Error 406 - Not acceptable
Introduction
A client (e.g. your Web browser or our CheckUpDown robot) can indicate to the Web server characteristics of the data it will accept back from the Web server. This is done using 'accept headers' of the following types:
Accept: The MIME types accepted by the client. For example, a browser may only accept back types of data (HTML files, GIF files etc.) it knows how to process.
Accept-Charset: The character sets accepted by the client.
Accept-Encoding: The data encoding accepted by the client e.g. the file formats it understands.
Accept-Language: The natural languages (English, German etc.) accepted by the client.
Accept-Ranges: Whether the client accepts ranges of bytes from the resource i.e. a portion of the resource.
If the Web server detects that the data it wants to return is not acceptable to the client, it returns a header containing the 406 error code.
406 errors in the HTTP cycle
Any client (e.g. your Web browser or our CheckUpDown robot) goes through the following cycle:
Obtain an IP address from the IP name of your site (your site URL without the leading 'http://'). This lookup (conversion of IP name to IP address) is provided by domain name servers (DNSs).
Open an IP socket connection to that IP address.
Write an HTTP data stream through that socket.
Receive an HTTP data stream back from your Web server in response. This data stream contains status codes whose values are determined by the HTTP protocol. Parse this data stream for status codes and other useful information.
This error occurs in the final step above when the client receives an HTTP status code that it recognises as '406'.
Fixing 406 errors - general
This error occurs very infrequently in Web browsers, because most browsers will accept any data returned from your Web server.
If the client is not a Web browser, then anyone can only investigate the problem by looking at the Accept headers generated by the client system and the data stream returned by the Web server. If you do not have access to the source code for these systems, the only thing you can do is refer the problem to technical support people at the companies that developed the systems.
ALSO FOUND THIS:
406 is the status returned when the http request has "Accept" headers that are incompatible with what is being requested or what the server is set up to deliver.
To put it in a metaphor, imagine that you're asking me for lunch, and in your request you tell me you have an allergy to peanuts. And I have food, but it all contains nuts. Instead of giving you the food (which would kill you), I will give you an empty response with a status of "Unacceptable"
OR imagine that I've asked you for a book to read, but I can only read books in English and French. If you only have books in German, you would give me an empty response with a "406 - not acceptable" status.
406 is the server telling you "I have what you asked for, but you won't accept them".
That's what Accept headers in the http request are for. For instance, if the http request includes directions that it will only accept "img/jpg" mime type, the server would send a 406 status if the file requested is an Excel spreadsheet.
To diagnose:
- request one of these pages and analyze the http request headers
- Pay attention to the MIME type of the responses, the Character Set, GZIP encoding
"406 not acceptable" is an unusual status code - the most common are 200, 404, 500, 301. You only see a 406 when something is wrong with the server, usually something silly but hard to diagnose.
I understand nothing about this, is there a possible solution? Isn't there someone on the forum staff that could help on this? Is this even the corret forum/thread for posting this?
thanks in advance

No problem you are being nice enough already just to be willing to change my mistakes. Unfortunately I can't change them myself because of the error I get.
I mispelled "BrowNser" and "te" without the H because I was typing fast on the latest update on the top of the post.
Also could you add megamemeater at the list of interested players just below the updates on the top of the post.
Thanks a lot.

Ok now I am getting this error! Hmm think we need to break up your post to at least two seperate posts..cause that isn't normal. Create another OoC, two empty posts at least. I will transfer when I get a chance. Put something like (place holder for OOC transfer) or something.

*Sigh* some @!-* is spamming here and on the forum too, ban him if you ask me.
As for the thread problem, would it be possible to transfer all people's posts too to another thread where I do as you suggest, creating 2 main posts intead of one?

I can't delete that spam here in the tribunal...but back to the topic.
No clue what the issue is, maybe just way to large.

Valeriy is the man in charge. You may have to use the email function instead of HCMing him however. It may take a bit of time, he only shows up occasionally.

Seems the post was taking up too much memory. All I cut were your sources, but you probably won't be able to update the main post without cutting out other parts of it.
Quote: SOURCES: D&D Fourth Edition Player's Handbook I and II, D&D Fourth Edition Dungeon Master's Guide Deluxe Edition, D&D Fourth Edition Monster Manuals I and II, D&
It cuts off because I guess that's where the memory ran out. Are you able to complete this list?

Yes It was completed when I posted, but was cut out automatically, without my intervention. I probably reached a limit then?
@Mytical
Thanks for helping once again. I don't know how to obtain his e-mail though and have no contact with him. Would it be to much to ask you or other mod to send a e-mail asking if he knows anything about a HTTP 406 error?
