Frozen Death
Cryogenic Lab - Site unknown.
THUMP
"Dang it Gary, be careful with that! This thing is dangerous!" exclaimed somebody as they watched Gary bringing in a cryogenically frozen corpse.
"Aww..it is nice and frozen Marcy..it isn't going to bite you!" argued Gary. Luckily he got it into place without any more bumps or scrapes.
"You have no idea what you have here. After the last zombie outbreak was finally stopped, this is the only intact zombie we have. They managed to cryogenically capture it for us to study. If this thing unfreezes, the whole contagion could spread again!" Marcy was rather nervous having the thing in her lab. Just under 24 hours ago it had been walking around trying to devour any living thing it had come accross.
"Shucks, this chamber is made of 3' thick steel. Ain't nothing I am gonna do that can hurt a thing. Ol deadeye here isn't going anywhere." He chuckled at his own joke.
"Just go, I have some tests to run. This thing gives me the creeps, and I can't get out of here fast enough." Marcy sounded exasperated.
"I'm going, I'm going." he can't help but give the chamber a good whack just to get a reaction from Marcy. Marcy throws her clipboard at him as he hastily retreats chuckling.
As marcy conducts her experiments on the undead creature, secure in it's chamber, she learns a few interesting things. It's cells have started absorbing the cryogenic material. Even frozen solid, it's 'dead' cells are adapting. Not that it is cause for alarm, as Gary said, it was safe in 3' thick metal. Even unnatural strength could not free it.
Hours later Marcy was done, so she locked up the lab. In her hurry to get out, she didn't notice a small ammount of frost forming on the outside of the chamber.
When the cleaning crew came in the next morning and opened the door, the entire lab was frozen. The chamber, now brittle from the ice, was tore open. As the cleaning person turned to go get security, out of nowhere, a merciless cold hand grabbed them instantly freezing part of their body. The man was twisted around just in time to see jaws headed for his neck.
