Actually Dark Elves in Jadame weren't evil,

I mentioned that. Actually, M&M8 shows that all "classical evil guys" can be good i.e. Lizardmen, Dark Elves, Trolls, Vampires, Minotaurs and Dragons, that's why I love that game.

and I doubt they'd join forces with monsters like horrors, or evil guys like dark dwarves and rat-men.

No, but Dark Dwarves and Rat-men are smply "neutral-evil", they're just bandits, nothing really evil. As for Horrors(and Crystal Dragons), I thought simply about some M&M 8 creatures... A M&M8 town... And remember that in Heroes III towns are thematic, not racial like in Heroes 5.

Storm-Giant said:
Not to mention Maestro vision was about Drows, not M&M Dark Elves as it's explained in the OP...

In that case... But I think that Drows are becoming over-used. They're great in Salvatores' works but outside that they look simply out of place.

Yes, I also love that game. The party personalization after the game was already started was another big plus too. And Dragons!

...bandits who attack Dark Elves caravans

Yes, but they aren't thematic around ONE WHOLE CONTINENT like your proposal. I find it very inconsistent with MM8 lore.

But don't forget it's Maestro MOD, not yours!

(well, it was, since it's a dead mod...)

I don't understand when someone calls a completed modification as a dead one.

Maestro Mod for MM7 is done, released and called as final version. You consider only WIP projects as "alive" modifications, don't you?

Well, if we are speaking not about Maestro Mod based on Big Daddy Jim's MMRev4R1 specifically, then I withdraw with sorries.

i don't consider anything anything, i wasn't the person who said the project was dead.

allow me to clarify: the completed project that people are talking about here, is strictly for Heroes of Might and Magic 3 WoG. if it was done for another platform, that kind of defeats saying it is done for this platform, doesn't it?

regardless, i have tried contacting the author of this work. i am waiting for his reply. if you could help to relay the message, that'd be great. i am very interested in his spider-riders, mentioned here.

thanks.

Well, the only thing I can remember about Drow and Maestro's implications of them are the Drow and Driders and such as main antagonists in MMVI: The Chaos Conspiracy, and Drow as available hero classes in MMVII: Maestro Mod.

Currently Maestro is busy on Might and Magic 8,5: Echo of Destruction and (probably) HMM3: Horn of the Abyss, so I guess he abandoned the idea of a Drow town. There is a townscreen though.

Don't think I'm blaming you or something, it's just a language barrier not allowing me to understand things completely sometimes. Cheers.

I actually can contact Maestro easily if needed, but I guess he even forgot about this idea, it's more than 3 years left.

i'm confused. so you meant this mod is completed, but only for the mm series?

and if you can contact him, yes, i would greatly appreciate that. i sent him an email already, via the email address he provides on celestialheavens, which i know you are also a member of. thanks again.

Well, to my eyes the mod has been abandoned, which in 99.9% of cases means it's dead. Maestro is busy with other projects and hasn't post an update about this in...4 years? You can't call this mod alive...

No, no, guys, my sorries, for I confused Maestro Mod for MM7 with this Drow Town, which was called "Maestro MOD" in one post - this misoriented me.

I mean, Maestro already implemented Drow in the said projects for Might and Magic, but none of them are HMM related on the first place.

As for the town - in 2009 there was a peak in towncrafting, many teams and ideas emerged, but after a few years all of the people realized that too much effort is required to make a town. Programming, 2D art, 3D art - and that's not mentioning the overall balance and fitting to the lore.

Don't say about all.
I made enough towns to prove to myself, that he only reason to not make them is laziness.

No, the reason is specified in main post: town was planned for 3.59, as they claimed there will be new towns feature.

Then when 3.59 failed, he just moved on, he was not interested by replacing vanilla towns.

What else stopped these people from doing towns?

Quality cannot stop people from doing things. Because it's a mark for output production.
If someone obsessed by mythical quality, he works till "quality" is reached.
If someone doesn't work, it's laziness.
