My New Objects (Based On New Objects 1.09)

These new terrains don't replace the original ones.

Terrains Containing (Two new terrains added on Feb 23):

Nice. Before going nuts and making 10 more, maybe wait a week or two, because when I will release Atlantis, you will find inside about 20 new terrains, including animated water. So we don't duplicate them for nothing.

But I must say, while having fun making them, I used them very little, as nothing can really be placed on and look right.

I don't know how to make animated objects - The ones I made look strage indeed. And yes, the last terrain I made is not quite satisfying.

Glad to hear that the new mod will contain a lot of new objects. I'm looking forward for that!

For water is not hard, but long. Take 10-15 water screens, create a layer 128x128, split it in equal parts and change the parts between them for each layer, looking closely to connections. Once you have 10-15 layers you are done. Then use the terrain brush to cut the right size and compile the pics in deftool.  

I needed that animated terrain because my city is on water and the hero must "walk" on. The gif screws colors but this is (almost) how it looks:

Wow, that's pretty nice. I know why the ones I made are strange - I only used 3~4 screens.

In your third terrain, delete the gray line in the middle, save and redo it starting from the new source (without light line diagonal). You will see that connections will be much better. I am too a newbie in graphics but I worked a lot last months on them.

Sorry but - which gray line? While watching that pic again my eyes became blurred!

In your rock lands there is a diagonal gray line which makes the connections bad, because it is placed only on the big size, not on the smallest ones. Get rid of it (blur/delete/duplicate in Photoshop) and save the new source.

I made it in 10 seconds.

I've made two more new terrains today, one from HoMM II, one from HoMM V.

PS: Any case in adding these new terrains to the next New Objects pack?

Of course they can be added, but would not be a good idea. How to inform all people who already play with 1.09 that it was updated? And then if they play some map which use your terrains, game will crash. What I suggest is to wait for bigger update (russians working on) and then add everything in. Every patch update must have at least 200 new objects, not 4-5 (1.09 had 400).

The objects I use in Atlantis are not in the patch neither.

Thanks. In my next edit I will delete water terrain because it's obviously worse than your animated one.
I really love your gold terrain and the ones with grass! The trees are beautiful as well. And it's amazing that the "sand" terrain can develop so many different effects only with colors changing!

I lack very technical details to make a campaign, as how to store and read variables from external source. I already thought at a several maps campaign, but I don't know how to carry all achievements/custom stats in next scenario yet. ATM is one map which works as a 12 maps campaign.

PS: Your english is perfect and much better than many here. For a chinese you rock.
