Your install replace a full 200 Mo lod for a 2 Mo change. Now imagine that everyone propose that, so no more than 1 modification is allowed/game version, because deleting the previous lod. Unacceptable, unless you propose much more changes. Can you make a list of all defs you use and post it? I will create a fast wog file from them.

I told you there is a link with only the DEFS that are changed and so on. If you can make it a wog update I would appreciate it. If not that's OK.

Unrar it on desktop too and look how is done, now you will know how to create a wog file.

It was finished to begin with.

There were download links but Salamandre made them a WOG update so that it will be easier to install.

It is fully operational, you can download it and try it out If you like.

The new creatures replace "old" ones in the Map Editor. How can I select a Fire Messenger f.e.?

EDIT: I've encountered some errors while starting/playing maps. The game crashes when I click the "buy all creatures" symbol. Also, why are some unique abilities deleted? Vampires f.e. don't have Double Strike anymore when trained.

Most of Wog creatures are replaced I mentioned that. There is no way to get them back (unless you kept the original lod files or re-install it)

That I don't know. I use it too and works fine. But the crashes are always due to ERM script problems which means that some options made in WOG MENU don't apply to the changes made by this mod. It used to crash to me too (with the original WOG) and I found out that disabling some options in the WOG Options section did the trick.
You should download this file:

and replace the WoGSetupEx to the HEROES folder. This means you'll have my options (It doesn't crash to me) and then choose what options you should like to keep and change. If you change an option and it crashes it means that this option is off limits. You should read the readme file for that.



Also, why are some unique abilities deleted? Vampires f.e. don't have Double Strike anymore when trained.



I made the experience abilities stable for each creature because I thought that experience stack was balancing off the game. You can switch back If you like by deleting the Crexpbon txt in the Data folder.

There may be a problem with your copy of WOG or installation (since it worked for me and for some others). Maybe you don't have all the updates from the official site.

Anyway, as I wrote at the start of this thread the only way is to restore the original lods and scripts. In the download made by Salamandre the original scripts are there but as for the lods...

I mentioned to read the readme file first so that you don't have to re-install the whole thing. I guess there is no other way now.

Try to make a second wog file with the original defs. Therefore, the one who wants to restore his wog will only run the second file and remove heroes pcx from DATA. More people will try your mod if they feel secure about it.

For the errors, maybe some wogify options played wrong. Hard to say how the game looks at new abilities.

OK, thx guys, I'm reinstalling HOMM3 and WOG (it has come to my attention that I don't have the 3.58f, but the 3.58), maybe that's what's causing the problem?

Probably...

When you do you should make a backup of all the heroes folder. This way you can always fix any problems you encounter.

I didn't kept the original files myself, but I intend to do so the next time I format and re-install heroes...

The first update is ready.

Hero_Of_Light_mod_v1.1

--->It has some small changes (some bugs fixed, some abilities and hero specialties changed)that make it more player friendly from the first one.

---> Some new creatures added (the Conflux updated creatures are all replaced since they have no purpose anymore with the new town setting and all). Some creatures are from Jon J and Salamandre, so credits to them as well.

---> Miscellaneous tweaks and changes (The Conflux heroes are now Thieves and Bards, whilst the Elementalists and Planeswalkers are now creatures).

Anyway, here it is:

Hope you enjoy. Just extract the components in your Heroes 3 folder and replace where necessary. After that, just run the update and you are ready to go.

Once you are done, select all the text files + all the defs/bmp and compress them to a rar file. Change the extension from .rar to .wog.

Now create a folder called Update and place the wog file inside

Now create a folder DATA and put all pcx in it.

Now create a folder inside Data folder, name it to s, then place the erm scripts.

Now select the new created Data+ Update folders we talk about and create a rar file. Now unrar this rar in any Heroes folder, the files will go in correct place and all the player has to do is click on update.exe and run it.


If I updated some of the text files, would I include those in the file too? If so, where?  Under the DATA or Update folder.
