some creatures deal insanely high damage

like 1 destroyer : 42 damage. 1 raider : 168 damage and I'm not talking about a single misanthropist at short range.

thunderbirds are imba, stormstrike actually makes them deal twice as much damage as their stats says. 40 thunderbirds inflicted over 2000 damage at the start of the fight. and it was without rune of battle frenzy.

avengers would probably be a death sentence for anything coming too close, but if they are bad enough at long range, it could be ok.

it feels a bit like fighting sylvan, you get rushed by thunderbirds and destroyers and lose half of your army before you can do a damn thing.

well, but it also depends on what you intended for them.

I tried another fight, and avengers are truely dreadful.

at long range, against a tank-ish level 4 unit, 9 of them dealt 500 damage, which isn't bad, considering they have range penalty at least, it seemed like a lot. oh, and that unit had deflect arrows

what are supposed to be the stats of the hero? clearly he doesn't need attack.

They should be fast and deadly, with low health. So you start the battle and kill them all in the beginning, or you die in a first counter.

I guess the hero should be a caster, which actually fits the town. What do you mean by stats of hero?

I was thinking, how fast he gains attack, defense, spellpower, knowledge. it would seem logical to focus on defense and knowledge, at least, if you want to balance the town.

I have to say, I was playing with auto-combat, and the AI is dumb as hell, it targetted the shooters last. it was more concerned by wintry hunters which are no threat at all. and thought that resurecting 50 levels 1 who got killed before they could even act was a better idea than circle of winter

not necessarily, but well, if you give him attack and spellpower, it's quite overkill. imagine thunderbirds and then meteor shower

what will you do with runes?

I gave its range equal to 1. Is there a ability that will make it have more penalty? And i want it to have low range, not always half damage when shooting.

I think it has to be half damage.
range -2 and range penalty, according to the scout file.

from what I understand, you want full damage at short range and a quarter of the damage at long range. I'm not sure it's possible.

Yes, that is what i am thinking about. I'll try that -2 range, and if that doesn't work, i'll just lower the damage dealt by them.

Edit:
The -2 range is actually bigger than 1 So how much damage do you think will balance the unit?

the fact it has hair

some ideas :

tier 1A : 5 HPs

tier 2 : 13 HPs Init 8
tier 2A : 13 HPs Init 10
tier 2B : 15 Hps Init 9

Tier 3 : 18 HPs
Tier 3B : Init 8

Tier 4A : 40 HPs Damage 5-6 Init 14 (what about the horde building?)
Tier 4B : 55 HPs Init 13

Tier 5 : defense 10 (I consider the horde building gives +1 of them, otherwise, they are underpowered)
Tier 5A : defense 10
Tier 5B : defense 13

Tier 6 : damage 18-23 Init 11
Tier 6A : damage 23-25
Tier 6B : damage 23-30, brutality instead of double elven shot (I think it triggers on range attack)

Tier 7 : damage 40-60
Tier 7B : attack 40 defense 30

I cant cut off his hair, because it will have transparent place instead of that. There will be no horde building for lvl 4, of course, while i want to keep the lvl 5 horde building. Thanks for the stats, i'll try them out

I've also cut the large braid of the ghoul, and now he has large bullethole instead Whatever, you almost can't see it, since there is no back camera, right?

back cameras can exist. ex: tactic mode in the beginning of the battle.
