Roy, I understand your doubts. I don't remember well what were the high scores for HoMM2 but I know how fast HoMM3 ones could be finished.

That was one reason I didn't like HOMM3.  A lot of the campaign maps seemed to have "tricks" that allowed very fast completion if you knew the trick.

Let me give you an example: HERE you can download a HoMM3 map which was the object of a blitz russian competition. Try it and tell me how fast you think it can be completed. Then I will tell you what was the record on and how he did it, as he posted the solution with the score.

I am not familiar with the HOMM3 expansions, but this is a very small and complicated map with lots of teleporters and other opportunities for increasing daily range of movement.  The starting hero also has increased movement, and there are no large forces that have to be defeated, so it can probably be done very fast, maybe in a few days.

It can be finished without clicking on "end turn". In one day.
Impressive, but not entirely unexpected.  The question is, was it deliberately designed that way?  I know some of the HOMM2 campaign maps have tricks that allow very fast completion (like carryover forces sufficient to defeat the objective by just running straight for it), but in general I don't believe they were designed with that in mind.

I just had to register to be able to ask for a link or something to the solution to that map.

And these "solutions" generally say things like "You lose if Roland casts Resurrect on his Titans, so reload.". I wouldn't count that as a real solution if the enemy can basically kill you at any moment. Luck.

Sorry, AI actions are hardcoded, there is no luck involved. We can talk about luck if he got high morale or luck strike, but certainly not if he cast resurrect or clone or whatever. Every of AI actions is an answer to what human did, thus is is possible to force him to go as you wish. He will not cast resurrect if you do a certain action, but will cast it if you don't. Exploit? Without doubt, we all would want that AI is less predictable. But at least it requires some creativity in searching and discovering AI pattern.

ISTR my record is about 90 days.  In this thread:

http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=32751

two people claim to have finished it in 29 days.  As you can see, other claimed records are 52 days for Roland, 66 for Wizard's Isle, and 82 for Price of Loyalty.  Archibald and Descendants aren't listed.  Frankly, I don't understand how any of those records are possible.

I wouldn't say they're impossible but not for casual players to tackle. Frankly, I like rushing but 52 days for the entire Roland campaign sounds extreme.

I don't care about Roland, W I, PoL, Lets speak about how are they possible in a "Voyage home". Imagine yourself that your Heroes are experts in pathfindind, logistics, navigation. Also they are unlimited resourses of gold, army and ets. Then: I consider that the theoritical limit of the walkthrow for the maps in this company are next: 1st: 8 days, 2nd: 8 days, 3rd(for Necromancer): 13 days = 29. BUT!
All this walkthows are reqired unlimited army. They have no time to raise it! They also have no enough resourses to do it by recruting the helping Herouses
Where woul they  get unlimited army? - They were cheat!!!
