Shaman: Lore issue in WoG

We all know that shamans are commanders for fortress since the commanders came out in wog, meaning more than 5 years, but did anyone thought that according to the lore they don't fit there?That they should belong to stronghold? Shamans are wise people who pray to the Ancestors, also the only people who belienve in the Ancestors are the barbarians ofcourse. When Tarnum was a barbarian in The World Tree and The fiery moon he had 2 withces as his advisors, while when he was a Beastmaster in Revolt of the Beastmasters there was nothing, absolutely nothing about shamans.
I also said that in the official core wog forum and i wanted to say here too because wog 3.59 shouldn't be too far from the release and i think that they should reconsider about the shamans.

Responses:
Shamans should be with the Barbarians!
Shamans should stay where they are!
I dont'care.

The story of The World Tree and The Fiery Moon takes place anywhere between 100 to 1000 years before Heroes III. Things change. Plus, WoG never payed a single iota of respect to any of the Might and Magic continuity in any case.

If you want,you can put shaman to rampart,why not? If you or someone don't want shaman to fortress,change him,the name, made or download one aleardy done,what's so hard?

It is only a name, and names are their last trouble. After all, you can fix that in a 1 line script, so not a big issue. Myself I don't care about, as I always considered that WoG is a shared tool between its creators, mapmakers and players. Each one is placing inside his wishes and achieves his own vision. I think WoG 3.59 won't change names, graphics or the whole ideas of old units...

...if it's released of course.

because it is not finished.that's why i wanted to discuss now because wog 3.59 is not as far from releasement as most of you think. Since there will be a new town, there will be a campaign..so there will be lore. in www.heroes3towns.com, corwin released some fragments from the campaign. the story will be during the battle between gelu and kilgor [i think x__x the text is in russian and google translate sux]

Even 7 lvl can be called a humanoid (as I remember from the campaigns they are wiser than they look like). But humanoids from Stronghold are much more "stupid" than humanoids from Fortress. The proof? Just look at heroes' skills - witches have more knowledge and spell power than battle mages.

so be it...u know better than me. ok. gamcreator said nothing relevant about my post. those descriptions say nothing about shamans. there are particular cases when the commander meets the hero and bla bla u saw the post there.

if u are speaking about lvl 7 in fortress...then how hydra looks like a human? that's what i understood. sorry if i missunderstood o_O

Let me put it in another manner. CoreWog forums are working on a different pattern than HC. In HC people adore to make garbage threads about how should be named (not pointing at you, in general), how should look, how should be strong, how should it fit, how...etc.

It is like a NASA team trying to make an engine capable to beat light speed then some visitors keep making remarks about the color of seats, belts and whatever.

What they try to do is very difficult technically. Changing a name is their last trouble, as I said. When it will be ready (if), I guess your propositions will be heard much more than today, atm they have no idea if will be done, how and when.

He speak about behemot,stronghold is based on strenght,not magic,the battle mage is there,because they needed a magic class,but exist termen of WAR.Who is smarter,a barbarian who know only to slaughter someone or a beastmaster who have calm in training of animals?

Btw, the thread asking for Commanders concept was initiated by Darkloke, which is not part of the team, and the thread died shortly, without a single answer from the CoreWoG members. Maybe because all creatures proposed were from World of Warcraft?

@salamandre: as i said..u dont know better. At that time Darkloke was a team-memeber. he quit because of lack of time.

ok...leave it as you wish. u turned this discussion into an argue that i wont continue because u are trying to convience me that im wrong, thus change my oppinion, thing that i didnt try to you. i just told you what is in the official story and gave a suggestion. that's why this forum is dead. u dont accept anything new, not to mention discuss it [except some members].

sorry for trying to make wog a better game in the ways i can *rollseyes*.
edit: some members made some posts offtopic as usual. they like to change the subject and speak just to ..speak.
