Random map, help?
Hello everyone!
Every time me and my friend wants to play together as a team of 2 against CPU's, we can only play on the maps that are already on H3.. And not create a random map, which is far more fun + better, but it wont let us be together as a team of 2..
Is there any way to solve this so we can play together even though it's random map?

Do you get an error message similar to "Could not fit current choices..."?
Do you have a text file called "rmg.txt" in your DATA folder?
What version do you play?

yes, hm,
maps are stored in "maps" folder
random maps are stored in "random maps" folder
to set up human players as team vs pc,i use map editor.
it should be located at the same folder as heroes3.exe
map editor = h3maped.exe run this file, press "new",
random map generation is the same as in heroes3.exe.
after new map has been generated,
to set up you and your brother as team players,
press: "tools>map specifications>team options..."
there you will know what to do
that you could play these new maps:
you should save them in "maps" folder -
you should owerwrite them on top of older maps,
which already were in "maps" folder,
otherwise Heroes3 will not locate new maps.
so dont forget to copy previous maps
to secure folder before owerwriting
P.S.: tools>map specifications>general: here you should write a title of new map. here you can write any title. otherwise all maps will be visibly named "untitled" or "random" in map menu in heroes3.exe

perhaps you just don't have "Random map" button at all? you will need few empty files to activate it

Why so complicated? You can set teams in game when creating a map through random map generator. No need to do it with map editor....

well... because
i had similiar problems > to this topic's author >
when setting teams in heroes3.exe > was with errors.
