Hero - OoC

Hi! I'm new to the Bard's Glade, this is my first RPG. I hope it's good

Okay, to start off, it takes place in a medivial setting, on Earth, more specificaly, on an unknown continent called Magitara. It is a land ruled by creatures of all sorts. There are many sorts of magics, such as Voodoo, Arcane, and Sorcery. All give some info about the races.

Goblins: Goblins are  tricky. They are quite small next to their closest allies, the Orcs. They only rarely are taller than 3 feet! The most noticable feature of the goblin is their oversized eyes. The goblins are NOT green! They have fair colored skin and large, pointed ears. They control Voodoo magics, though few goblins know how to direct it, they have some slight immunities to hexes. Also, goblins are thieves by heart, taking what is needed and wrecking what isn't. Despite this, goblins make a loyal friend, if you are lucky enough to befriend one.

Positives:
- Loyal friends
- Slight immunity to Hexes
- Sneaky
- Good eyes
Negatives:
- Physically frail
- Poor at magic

Orcs: Orcs are described by most races as monsters. In truth, they are the most honorable race alive. They never attack first, but racism has brought their race to more wars than any other. The only race they can truly trust are goblins, who gave the orcs a home when dwarves threatened the beasts. Orcs, are usually around 7 feet tall, have short fur covering their pink-skined bodies'. They have retractable claws on their fingers, which when completely uncovered can be up to a half a foot long. Another odd feature is the lack of a proper nose. Instead, they only have two nostrals that are hard to see under their fur.
Positives:
- Strong
- Flexible
- Claws
- Fur keeps them warm
Negatives:
- Fears magic
- Fur keeps them warm

Humans: Humans have many groups; the clerical followers of Albear, the arcane wizards of Aritia, the fanatic cults of Pyrosh, and the nomad tribes of Ocania. Each has their own cultures and differances, which interests the Naradan elves, for most elves are "one trick ponies". The religious humans of Albear have covered more land with cities than all of the other southern countries combined, and the magi of Aritia are the greatest magic users in Magitara.
Positives:
- Depends on faction
Negatives:
- Depends on faction

Elves: Elves come in many races, from snow elves to drow, but the most well know group (and by far the largest spread) are the Naradan elves of the Nara. Elves are near immortal, some reaching ages of nearl 5000 years. They are strickly vegan. They couldn't eat meat even if they really wanted to. A weakness is their love of trees. They adore plants, sometimes above friends. They are tall, smart, and have reflexes that could outdo a cat. They have wonderous voices and no love of the forge. They usually wear leafy clothes.
Positives:
- Smart
- Fast runners
- Good with animals
- Good with magic
Negatives:
- Weak
- Can't eat meat
- Hard to multitask
Note: The above was about Naradan elves. I'll make a full elf list if anyone wants.

Lizardkin: The lizardkin often are called lizardmen, though such terms are rude in the lizardkins' eyes. They are swamp dwellers, living with lesser reptiles and sometimes gnolls. They are covered by scales and have 4 fingers on each hand (including thumbs). Their tails often are problematic when hiding, and their large feet tend to make lots of noise. They are rarely seen, as they hate leaving the swamps. They are at war with a lesser known race called the troggs. Often lizardkin are viewed as evil creatures because of some tribes practice of cannibalism. Lizardkin rarely mean any harm. They usually stay with whatever friends they can make.
Positives:
- Tail can hit things behind them
- "Swamp walkers"
- Good friends
Negatives:
- Tail can hit things behind them
- Racism
- Hard to understand because of accent

There are other minor races to like Troggs, Wraiths, Spirits, Half-Breeds, Centaur, Gnolls, and Grells, but I don't expect to many people to want to play as them.

Edit: As Mytical suggested, these are the classes:

Adventurer: Adventurers are only here for the call of adventure. They have the need to go out and find something to explore, fight, solve, or a combination of those. They are good with a bow, and can defend themselves well, if they need to.

Barbarian: Barbarians are trained not as cruel murderers, but as honorable fighters who would throw all they have at evil forces to end any threat that may be lurking near them. They often fear magic, and have very little trust for any who use it.

Cleric: Clerics are the followers of the goddess of light. They serve their deity before anything else, and in return are granted regenerating powers. The most powerful Clerics can raise dead allies to fight again. Note: I don't want anyone to start able to Ressurect! Way OP, though you probaly wouldn't use it much... yet

Death Knight: Death Knights are horrid, soulless fiends that are created by Soul Edges, cursed sword that destroy your soul when one is touched. The newly created minion of the blade does cruel tasks for it. However, many Death Knights found free will again, and defend the lands they came from.

Mage: Wise wielders of the Arcane, the Magi are the most well known wizards in Magitara. They have many celestial allies like the genies, that some can summon or entrap in bootles and lamps. They also can use trickery such as Polymorph, which lets them change enemies into certain animals. Note: No Polymorph spamming. I know it's tempting to turn a horde of orcs into monkeys, but please, LIMIT the morphing.

Necromancer: Necromancers are dark wizards who reanimate fallen corpses into undead servents. Though not truly "evil", they are darker than most other classes, the only darker one is an unfree Death Knight.

Paladin: Paladins are holy warriors, able to communicate with spirits, goodly beings that have no physical form. Some Paladins control spirits, draining their powers and increasing the Dark Paladin's. These people, however, are wanted and often have a bounty on their heads. Holy Paladins however, are proud warriors, few others make better companions.

Ranger: Rangers are the protectors of nature, and are the greatest when armed with a bow, spear, or dart, depending on the race. Rangers greatest companions are animals, and it isn't uncommon to see ones who have befriended tigers or even behemoths!

Rogue: Rogues are thieves who steal what they need when they need, often assassinating targets. Rogues have many enemies, but an enemy is never alive for very long. A Rogue often would turn on his friends instead of fighting if the battle was turning in the enemy's favour.

Sorcerer: Sorcerers are wizards that control the destructive side of nature (fire, earthquakes, tornados, lava, tsunamis, ect) and use it to get their way through life. Sorcerers are branded as being uncontrollable, but this is a lie, as Sorcerers are the best wizards at controlling their magic.

Spellsword: Spellswords are the guards of the High Circle of Magi. They are trained as exellent warriors, and have much endurance. But the most important thing about the Spellswords is they're mastery in many forms of magic, though mostly Arcane powers. As such, they share many skills with the Barbarians and Magi, and have many unique abilities as well.

Witch Doctor: Witch Doctors are masters at hexing their enemies, and are rarely able to be trusted. Witch Doctors call themselves honorable wizards who are misunderstood. Though sometimes this is true, most of a Witch Doctor's opponents are dead before they know the doctor was even there...

Hey... I just realized this. Every class is in alphabetical order!

Okay, to make a charater, just fill out a guideline I have below.

Name: What is your name?
Race: What are you?
Age: How old are you?
Class: What is your battle style?
Description: What do you look like? What do you wear?
Background: Why are you here? What is your history?
Personality/Special Traits: Who are you? What makes you unique?

Character list:

RabbidCow:

Name: Amurris Stillscale
Race: Lizardkin
Age: 21
Class: Adventurer
Description: Male, Short for a Lizardkin, Carries a backpack most of the time, Two ear fins, Bright green scales.
Background: Amurris was raised in the Stillscale tribe. He was of nobal birth, being the son of Chieftan Gaoc Stillscale. He was to be the next Chief but the call for adventure was to great and he left the swamps to explore the world. He eventually ended up in the Albean city of Light's Peak.
Personality/Special Traits: Can't stay in one place for very long, Talksss in a hissssing accent like thisss (lizardkin accent), Hates elves but can put it aside usually, Skilled with the longbow, Knows how to use a shortsword for defense.

Name: Morrik
Race: Goblin
Age: 67 (but looks like he's 13)
Class: Death Knight
Description: Looks like most goblins do, has orange dyed hair
Background: Morrik grew up in the goblin capitol of Trojeheim. There, the poor goblin found something shiny so he touched it. Well, that "something shiny" happened to be a Soul Edge. The goblin child killed his own familiy by order of the sword. It was lucky that he found his free will again after it happened. The poor soul(less) ran from Trojeheim and wound up in a place known as Druuk's Tavern. And that's where Hero starts.
Personality/Special Traits: He is quite good at combat, though he hates killing, and he can summon a barrier of swords for a few seconds to protect himself.

And the villians:

Name: Melphestus
Race: Half Demon
Age: Unknown (believed to be 103)
Class: Something along the lines of what Kul Miradis is
Description: 8 feet in height, ram like horns on his head, large leathery bat like wings on his back, fiery red skin, claws and dagger like teeth.
Background: It is unknown who Melphestus's human mother is or was, but his father is the demonic embodiment of fire itself, the lord of flames, Kul Mageras. He is the messanger for his imprisoned father, wreaking havoc upon the mortals until Mageras breaks the bonds that hold him in place.
Personality/Special Traits: Melphestus is able to take on the form of a charming younge man, presumably what he would have looked like if he was not tainted by demon blood. He can cause political unrest by passing as a royal adviser, and tricking a king, where total annihalation is unnessasary or impossible. Though his wings are useless like those of a Archfiend, but, like an Archfiend, he is able to achieve flight by turning into a living fireball.

War-overlord:

Name: Osseric of the Grey Dunes
Race: Human/Half Dwarf?
Class: Necromancer/Merchant
Description: Osseric is a short man with grey hair and a long flowing beard. He dresses in expensive robes and has several pieces of gold and silver jewelry. He carries a malachite staff that is shaped like a spine, the staff is topped by and obsidian orb.
Background: Osseric turned to Necromancy to satisfy his greed, one who never dies has all the time in the world to accumulate more wealth. Osseric has gathered a fortune over the years, but in his eyes it is never enough. Osseric employs several skeletal minions, mostly because he does not have to pay them. His minions are usually dresses heavily to not scare the locals and can only be recognised as skeletons on close inspection. Because of his appearance and the fact that he has hardly aged or decayed over his long life has created rumours that Osseric is of dwarven descent, however nobody has been able to confirm this.
Personality/Special Traits: Osseric is very old, but his fittness belies that as he has the stamina of which a 40 year old human would be jealous. Osseric speaks in a slow melancholic voice and often pauses his sentence on strange moments. Despite his wealth, Osseric is a miser and he will barter over anything and everything. Necromancy is, unlike most Necromancers, not Osseric's primary calling; it is more a means to an end to increase his wealth.

Kipshasz:

Name: Domerth
Age: 27
Race: Human
Class Mage/Warrior
Appearance: stands about 185cm tall, ash grey hair, wears a blindfold, is of medium athletic build. His armor is with bone ornaments(cuirass ornamented with ribs, etc.), wears a dark blue cloak to cover it. His right hand is always hidden by a gauntlet.
Background: Domerth is the eldest son of one of the kings of the Old World(hence Europe, since this is set in medieval Earth). His father learned that in the fabled land of Magitara lives a special and extremely rare breed of horses that bear two heads and two tails. He sent his eldest son to retrieve at least one of them. Aided by two of his best squires, Domerth managed to  find three of the steeds, which were in possesion of three powerfull sorcerers. With each one Domerth fought for three days and three nights, each time standing as the victor. He also took one's enchanted armor, decorated with the images of Death itself, and returned home. Alas, his brothers, jealous of their father's love to Domerth, had murdered their father and usurped the throne for themselves. When he returned home, and found out his brothers' threachery, and singlehandedly charged the palace. The guards loyal to his brothers were unable to withstand his rage and fury. He confronded and killed his brothers in the throne room, the entire royal court being witnesses to this. The battle didn't came without injuries, for Domerth lost his right hand and eyes in the duel against his middle brother. He left the kingdom to his sister, a determined young wise woman and with his cutted off limb returned to Magitaria. There, he sought out a cult of necromancers, who returned his vision and reattached his lost limb to him . But the hand's flesh had rotted away, leaving Domerth with only the bones and sinew of the limb. The blacksmiths of the cult, crafted him a special gauntlet, that allowed him to control the hand as it was never cutted off. His new 'eyes' were not meant to see to the mortal eyes, as they were granted only to the few heroes and champions who had lost ther vision. Due to the Church of Magitaria deeming such acts of 'cure' as heresy, Domerth had to hide his new eyes behind a piece of black leather, however his sight was not weakened at all, and Domerth thought that he could see better than ever. In his long journeys across Magitara, he found a fortress of black granith, carved straight into a mountain. After wandering the fortress for nine days, and nearly dying from exhaustion he found a strange shrine, dedicated to an unknown king. He approached the shrine and on it, he saw a strange, ethereal sword. It's serpent like blade glowed with mystic energies, pulsating with the arcane power sealed within it. As Domerth touched it, the sword fused with his body and soul, becoming his symbolic weapon. In short time, Domerth learned how to harness the power of ice and frost, and use it as his own, for it was the blades key element as well.

Weapons: Lycus Wraith, a symbiont wraith blade of unknown(to every one else except Domerth) origin.

Berny-Mac:

Name: Salim Durano
Alias: none (he doesn't care about secret identities or stuff like that)
Class: Skirmisher/Adventurer/Rogue/Tracker
Race: Human
Age: 27
Height: 6'2
Physical Appearance: Salim is dressed in mostly light and tough clothing that is made mostly for speed and long journeys. He also has a light leather cuirass to protect him from arrows and other light weapons, but cannot withstand many blades or heavy weapons. Akin to his southern heritage, Selim, he also wears a turban with an ornate skull cap integrated into it. Salim himself is very lean and muscular, but values deception and grace above brutality and force. He is relatively dark skinned, but lighter than most of his kin due to his royal heritage.
Background: Salim was a prince from one of the Southern kingdoms, and has lived a privileged life until his kingdom was conquered and he has to escape for his life. It has been 9 years since then, and he has spent his time in the northern parts of Magitara as a mercenary and tracker, but has never forgotten about the mages that have ruined his life.
Weapons: An ornate shamshir from his younger years as a Prince, 2 parrying daggers, a hunter's composite bow (with silver tipped arrows), 2 gauntlets with retractable battle claws, as well as various potions and medicines.
Powers/Magic/Miscellaneous: He naturally has extreme reflexes, speed, flexibility, which allow him to do some amazing acrobatics. He also is a very clever and quick thinker, usually able to see beyond the obvious, allowing him to detect traps or track down others easily when coupled with his extremely acute senses. A certain artifact that he possesses also makes him quicker and faster than he already is, but it doesn't make him impossible to defeat or catch.

Name: Poat
Alias: none
Race: Goblin
Age: 24
Class: Thief
Physical Appearance: He looks like a typical goblin should look physically. Poat tends to wear light clothing like Salim does, but no armor at all.
Background: Poat was a typical Goblin thief when he tried stealing from the wrong guy, who happened to be Salim. Salim, instead of killing or even just harming the little Goblin, merely persuaded Poat into working with Salim. Since their meeting, they have been a good pair, Poat usually getting information or stealing important items while Salim uses them to their fullest potential.
Weapons: Poat does not normally fight, but he has an assortment of knives and daggers to protect himself with as well as using them for other purposes.
Abilities: Poat does not have any truly special abilities, but his clever mind and dexterity give him an edge over the typical Goblin folk. Salim has also trained Poat to use his words well, making him almost as persuasive as Salim.

wog_edn:

Name: Tael Riverine
Race: Dark Elf
Class: Mercenary/Rogue/Sorcerer
Description: About 6.2 feet, white long hair (just beneath shoulders), black skin and all white eyes except of a faint red glowing in the middle. Athletic built, rather slim but still has great (though not extreme) strength. Usually wears black loose silk clothing, a black thick traveling cloak and thin boots for best ability to run.
Background: Tael Riverine had always been a fighter, ignoring his kin he travels around taking what he needs and working as a mercenary. He may as well kill his employer if the person has money at the spot, instead of going through with the job. He left his home town at early age, and doesn't care about his past or future.
Personality/Special Traits: He is able to turn into a dark gray/green smoke-like form, in which he cannot be harmed physically. He is an easy victim for magic while in smoke-form though, as he cannot use his own magic or weapons either. The only way he finds some kind of happiness is by killing, and will take on any foe he knows he can take. If he is unsure he will try to ally with the person, or run away/hide.
Weapons: A sword with the blade of a rapier and the hilt of a gladius forged by a special metal alloy, it will pierce through most armor except platemail of iron or steel. He also uses a long dagger. Extremely quick, he uses his speed alongside his ability to turn into smoke to fight, confuse his enemies and hide. He is also capable in sorcery, favoring the control of wind and fire.

AlkarRahn: (inactive)

Name: Snolcrim
Race: Grell
Age:
Class: Witch Doctor

Description: Snolcrim carries a variety of pouches, and a fair-sized, in comparison to him, tree branch in his left hand. His other hand has poor-looking finger tips, from dragging them along the ground so much.

Background: Snolcrim was a great watcher. He watched and watched. What he watched, he learned. What he learned, was that of humans mostly. Humans and their magic. The things that messed with others seemed most fun. He practiced what he learned, until something happened. Not much. A fly never being able to stop flying again.
He had to try something else! To his own kind? No. That wouldn't be right. To one of those humans he learned from? Yes. That would do! He raced off, in search of one. Hiding as he had so many times before, he prepared to curse any human that passed by.
The wait was rough, but one come along. A fairly old man. Not too bad off, but plenty of silver hair. Snolcrim remained where he was, starting to do his work. The man grinned, pointed towards the grell, and uttered a few words. Snolcrim froze. Not of anything the man did to him, but of fear. He felt something wash over him moments later. The man walked off. Snolcrim turned to leave, and became a bit mad, saying he'd make that man bleed. Just then, blood started dripping from his nose. He realized, that was one of them. It had to be. He, himself, was hexed.

Personality/Special Traits: Snolcrim can be happy, sad, or a variety of other moods, all fairly simply, depending on recent events. Most of his hexes work well enough with only words being the requirement, however, he can unintentionally put some on him and those around him just as easily. Though, they wear off after some time.

NPCs:

NPCs (non player characters) may be controled by anyone BUT only if you HCM me first and tell me what your going to do with them. Here's the currant list:

Name: Kul Miradis (MEER-adis) (Meer rhymes with fear)
Race: Ner'Shuboz (demon)
Age: Like most demons, he was alive at the begining of time
Class: There's not really a fitting class for him
Description: He is 6 feet in height, wears heavy armour plating, has pasty white skin (like most Ner'Shuboz), an array of boney spikes along his head in exchange for hair and two horns that are much more prominent then the spikes.
Background: Kul Miradis was born from the chaos (as with all demons). He was one of the three that opened a portal from the Abyss to the Physical realm (aka Magitara). He killed countless mortal beings and earned great pride amongst the other Abyssal monsters. Soon, however, Miradis saw what made the world unique: love, hope, and honesty, things that demons could barely begin to understand. Kul Miradis rounded up a huge group of like minded demons and rioted Demonag, the demonic capital on Magitara, and other threw it. It is now the capital for the rogue demons that have recently created a allience with the Orcs.
Personality/Special Traits: He can control fire, for the largest part, and is immune to it (like other Ner'Shuboz). He uses a powerful axe forged of Demonstone in combat and also studies Sorcery.

Name: Mechanzie Rageheart (ma-CHEN-zee)
Race: Orc
Age: 87 (which quite young for an orc)
Class: Barbarian
Description: Unusually short, only barely 7 feet tall, wears mostly heavy armours when in combat, light leather animal hides when in Trojeheim.
Background: Mechanzie is the only living ancestor of Arouras Rageheart, the orc that saved his kin by sailing from the doomed Sunbur to a new land (Magitara). Now, Mechanzie is the rightful chieftan of the orcish people and he will do anything it takes to defend his heritage and his brethren.
Personality/Special Traits: Mechanzie is an expert warrior and can defeat near anyone in a one on one dual (including Kul Miradis). But he often rushes into a fight without much regatrd for strategy, which nearly was his downfall during a battle in which was captured and torchered. But nonetheless there is no better ally among the orcs then this brave young king.

Warlord:

Name: Evelgor
Race: Zephalinot
Age: Lost to Time
Class: Witch Doctor
Description: ....
Background: Evelgor is here to consume humans, to bring pain and misery, etc.
Personality/Special Traits: The most ancient of all Zephalinots, Evelgor is respected like no other. Practically none know of his existence, and those that do have no power to say it. He operates in secrecy, making sure none know about him. When he strikes, he strikes quickly, and rarely does anyone escape his clutches.

Name: Glendon
Race: Orc
Age: Lost in Time
Class: Paladin
Description: Dark brown fur, white scars crisscrossing his body. Light armor covering his chest and legs, and a large sword strapped to his back.
Background: Glendon has lived for a very long time. When he was young, he protected all, and fiercely fought against injustice and mistreatment of others. Finally, after thirty years of not reverting from this path, he was chosen as an elite protector of the people. He was imbued with powerful magic, and sent out to fight the evil in the world. And so he did. For hundreds of years he roamed the world, fighting evil everywhere. After several millenia, he went to rest in his castle, awakening every few hundred years to fight some demon. And now, after thousands of years, lying forgotten in his castle, he has awoken again. But why? That is the question.
Personality/Special Traits: He has a light personality, and would gladly give up his life for friends. Unfortunately, he is sometimes too trustful, and this leads to betrayals.

Welcome to the Glade .  You are off to a great start.  Might want to explain some of the classes, but otherwise it sounds good.  It can be hard to get anybody involved (sadly), but as for any questions feel free to HCM me.

Hey, Rabbidcow. You're doing good for a first one. Let's hope it goes off to a good start. Though I am involved in some other RP's, this one looks interesting. I'll see if I want to join (I'm a sucker for this kinda stuff so I probably will ). Is there any main plot to this, or is it a make it up as you go along type story?

This sounds rather fun. But I'd like to know the same thing as Berny. Is there a preset story to this or will we make this up as we go along?

I have a few stories I'm thinking about but I'm pretty fixed on 3 powerful heroes suddenly going missing and leaving the land unprotected. But like I said, I may choose a different plot.

Looks like a nice setting, but I think there's too much generic fantasy rps(I'm a fan of low/dark fantasy myself). I may join this however.
Just a few questions.
Are these the only class choices, and are we able to mix classes?

Thanks for the answers.

My char:
Weapons: Lycus Wraith, a symbiont wraith blade of unknown(to every one else except Domerth, who is very unclear of it's existance) origin.
Spells/Powers: doesn't cast spells as usual mages do, however he may call upon the element of Ice to his aid.
Compianion(s): One of the two headed and two tailed steeds of Magitara

@Kip
So is Domerth something close to the (free?) Dark Knight RabbidCow described?

@Geny: Well, yes and no. His armor may be of Death Knight style or origin, yet he's not one of their kin. Most of the stuff will be covered in his background.

Acually, bone decorations are more a necromancer thing. Death Knights usually have nice armour, sometimes just Paladin styled armour with more black and red.

I was talking more about the sword thing (although the armor helped), but I guess I'll just have to wait for the background.

I will not deny you a good RP so I'll join up.

Abilities: He naturally has extreme reflexes, speed, flexibility, which allow him to do some amazing acrobatics.
Miscellaneous: He is usually quiet and reserved, but can be happy and smiling occasionally. He generally is mistrustful of mages and others that use magic, but accepts their uses and advantages for having them as allies. He also has learned to mask his accent and to use words of persuasion.

Elves

Okay, I've finished an information list on elves:

Dark Elves: Looks like this. They (usually) worship some sort of bug god. They (again, usually) are evil, stealthy and merciless killing machine.

Naradan Elves: Covered on the master post.

Snow Elves: Looks sort of like this, but with light blue to white coloured skin. Only a little taller than goblins.

Flame Elves: Looks like this picture. As tall as a human, most worship with the cults of Pyrosh.

River Elves: Imagine a finned, blue skinned, tall elf. Has scales and webbed fingers.

Light Elves: Has fair skin, more human posture, and crazy pointed ears. (Something like light worshiping Blood Elves)

Jungle Elves: Much like Naradan Elves, but with a more pale green skin colour.

Didn't notice your post, Berny. People keep posting when I'm In the middle of posting something my self He's a good character, I must say.
