The time has come! The ultimate tournament!
Many had it in their minds but no one was sharing! Now we did! We think it is time for a BIG tournament to be created!
It has officially begun! here is the website.
Ultimate Heroes Duel Tournament
Pay a visit to it and give us feedback with whatever you want! We have made already plans for the near future, such as more maps, maybe another/ second website and many more features and subtournaments! For now, visit the site, read the rules and have fun playing!

Thatīs very exciting indeed.
Im a PHP programmer, so I could help setting it up a web site for this.
As for formuals, here are some I already posted in the other thread:

We could still keep the Caesar's theme. That is when 8 emperors gather they have a tournament for the one and only Caesar  I am rather fond of the elo system, in toh emperors are those that reach 1900+ points.
One thing to watch out for should we follow that, the formula gives 1 point or zero if there is too much of a difference between players' ratings.

Thatīs cool because I just found a PHP class to do ELO system calculations, that would make the implementation much easier.

I said a found a piece of code that I can use for the calculus0, which would be the hardest to implement from scratch.
For an online system, I found this:

Hello guys Been awhile since my last visit here - Elvin don't kill me
The whole idea is just great. Battles in Heroes 5 are the essence of this game for me at least. Duels are faster,easier and more fun 
The site looks great, excellent graphics and I'm sure i will take part in this
In terms of maps i wanted too ask if you are open for any others. Right now we are upgrading the Arena map that you already know because i gave it here already in other thread. Changes also include the units mods you tried in the tournament that is still on ( shame that just few people play ) but there are also some other tweaks. Map will be finished soon i ques and after some tests it will be ready to play. I know you like higher levels but believe me, it's also a good Duel Type Map and the more maps we will have the better a think.
Soon we will create a new Arena map that will be even closer to your versions. The one i discussed above is mostly for racial builds ( i mean you use usually magics that are in the guilds for the races but tomes are not banned here so you may have some surprises). The new one will allow every possible build. Old will soon be ready for playing and i would appreciate if you didn't change anything. Just attach it or not as it is - trust me that our league has some really good Duel players and they know something about balance so the map is really quite good and most of all different than the others. Primus was very satisfied when we played

Of course we accept new and old maps!
My way of thinking it is that we need many maps. just like in toh.
So we need several kinds of maps. and not necessarily good ones. because i may want to play just for fun one day! fun maps exist too! not only balanced ones!
so yes, whoever wants to make a duel map, or send me their ready arena or whatever map we will gladly upload it and make it official for the tournament!

There will be a problem with the rankings, as nobody will ever reach Black Dragon status ... not even Raska ..
I suggest you decrease the point difference between rakings to 50 points, to give this a real chance to work.

WHy are you saying that Tower? You get 8 points by beating someone with the exact same points as you. Each rank has 100 points. so you need to win at around 12 duels against players with the same points as you. That makes it 120 wins against same-point players to get to the top! is that too long?

Maybe if there where at least 1000 players in the tournament it might work out, but with the ammount of players right now, that won't happen.
Problem is there simply won't be players ranked @ the same points. Having +120 wins against players as good as you(same ranking points), is impossible ... cause Elo usually shows the real game strength of players, so you would win/lose 50% against those with the same ranking.
To understand better what I am talking about look at the players curently in the tournament:
11 players with different ratings
The total sum of their points, will always be 1000 * 11 = 11000 points
So, for a player to reach 1500 points, 5 other players should have 900, or 10 players 950 points and so on...
With 11 players in the tournament, one should be kicking the ass of all the others on a constant basis to reach just 1500... 1900 would be just insane to reach.

I see what you mean but take into consideration 2 things.
1) the total amount of players will NOT stay at 11.
2) the amoun of duels that can be played within the time needed to play a full map.
In any case, things started this way and will change according to the circumstances. isn't that the best way?
I want a little poll here. tell me your opinion.
The ELO system that we use in the Ultimate tournament has 2 modes.
The Master and the Beginner (don't pay attention to the names!)
So If 2 players with exactly same points play:
Master mode: the winner gets 8 points, the loser loses 8.
Beginner mode: the winner gets 16 points, the loser loses 16.
If a player has 1200 and beats someone with 1400:
Master mode:The winner will get 12 points and the loser loses 12
Beginner mode:The winner will get 24 points and the loser loses 24
Which of the two seems better?
