Some of the forum members previously found files hinting that Academy will emerge as the next faction, but further datamining proved that we will have a surprise addtion... a new faction of deers! 
 
Just kidding.
Those creatures were to be used as critters, just to make the map feel more alive.
The sun deer is mentioned on a signpost in a Haven mission (3rd IIRC) as being endangered. The onyx stag is mentioned in the description for the Soulreaver staff.
You can check their textures by opening the .orc files. They are obviously called OnyxStag and SunDeer.
